Thorn Architects

Our experience with Thorn was not similar to the ones described here. There has been mindless spending that exceeded our budget by almost 3x at the time of completion. Melissa was respectful and made beautiful drawings for our home. Bill started out pleasant and as time went on, his tone towards us his customer became unreasonable. At one point, he called and screamed at me on the phone... interesting way to manage a business with your customer who has provided many projects (and is well connected in the area). What is unfortunate is that the work was better than previous contracting teams that have been at our home but I have found a replacement (since he won't finish the work) in a team who is just as well skilled, without the drama. I'd say go to Melissa for her architectural work but maybe skip anything further as it's not worth the headache.

we hired thorn architects to create, design and build a brand new outdoor living area and a remodel of our existing dining room. we now have an outdoor space that is inviting and functional and it's connected with our indoor dining area in a way that flows well. bill and melissa were easy to work, responsive and thorough.

Our experience with Thorn Architects was terrific. Melissa and Bill worked with our ideas and expanded on our suggestions. Our house was dark and dated. They opened up the floor plan, strategically placed Windows and introduced materials and a color palette that we loved. We appreciated their dedication to detail and input when we made decisions on purchases. They worked with us to stay within our budget and kept us informed through all stages of the project. To this day, we catch ourselves looking at our home and loving it.
