Linda Ruderman Interiors

We worked with Linda to design our home in Greenwich from top to bottom. She and her team were wonderful to work with and we could not be happier with the result. Linda was meticulous in designing every aspect of every room, including furniture design, fabrics, carpets, wallcoverings/paint colors and millwork. She was thoughtful in her recommendations, understanding what a household with 3 young children needs. For example, she went out of her way to find unique performance fabrics and durable wall coverings for the right places so we could create a home that is not only beautiful but also practical and comfortable. In our meetings, Linda and her team would always present fully thought-out concepts which kept the process moving quickly and made it easy to envision her ideas. She was conscious of our budget and never pushed us to spend more; in fact, she was able to balance the places where we chose to “splurge” by finding us savings in other areas. Everyone who comes into our home – including friends who are themselves interior designers – are in awe of Linda’s work. We truly could not be happier and would recommend Linda wholeheartedly. (And even my kids love Linda!)

BEWARE!!! Very early on in my working relationship with Linda Ruderman, she asked me to start recommending her. As a rule, I only recommend until after a job is a done. So, I am happily writing this review to let potential clients know to only hire Linda Ruderman if you plan on going triple over your budget and if you do not then be prepared to get excuses. Linda Ruderman likes to pass the buck off to other people. And whenever there is an issue (as there always is in home renovation) she is either unresponsive or takes zero responsibility. The problems first began when she went MIA for two days during a critical part of our master bathroom renovation. After leaving several messages (voice and text) for her and her staff someone called me days later to inform me she had a family emergency. As I felt badly about the family emergency, I thought someone from her office should have notified me sooner and still no one came to check on the project until days after that. This said bathroom since completion has had several design issues including flooding my office and ruining the mill work which she took ZERO responsibility for (blames the contractor that she recommended) or helped fix. Then, when we were designing my daughters room, I would show up at meetings at her office and she and her staff would be ill prepared. After I did not like any of her ideas (I sent her mood boards but she obviously did not understand the aesthetic I wanted) she and her staff would go running around the office looking for outdated fabric and wallpaper books. In the meant time, she insulted the work I did with a previous designer several times. She also talked us into a light colored carpet for our Master Bedroom (we have two young children) and after my husband was reluctant, she assured us that the carpet would be treated and there would be no problems. Well, after the fireplace guys came to fix our brand new fireplace for the third time, they left stains on the carpet of which Linda blamed on our dog that died months previous. She did not help us to rectify the situation and even made or contractors assistant pay for the clean up and when the clean up did not work, she still refused to take any responsibility. Finally, a stool we had in a storage facility she recommended got ruined. Nor she or the storage facility offered to pay for the damage sighting a contract. I have worked with several designers over the years (I am back with my original one) and I have worked in the service industry and I have never met a more duplicitous unprofessional person in my life. We spent over a million dollars on this project and were treated with disrespect the second she learned she could not fleece us for more money.

Linda Ruderman Interiors was brilliant in combining beauty and comfort in every room of our home. The styles and fabrics presented from the wall and floor finishes to the furniture and their layout are so gorgeous and luxurious, it is very difficult to leave.

Linda Ruderman Interiors are my most favorite designers for project collaborations! I am an Architect and I value LRI's exquisite style in knowing our architectural backgrounds will look their best when they are done with finishes and final touches of their furnishing selections. Their range of work is comprehensive from contemporary, transitional, and classic design aesthetics.
