I actually discovered Peterson Builders on houzz back in 2016 and they are credited with building the 2018 Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes People's Choice WINNER "New England Charm!" I get to brag on Peterson because they built the home of our dreams in the beautiful Ogden Valley. We were looking for a builder to do a custom home build for us that would encapsulate everything that we were looking for. My wife being from New England had her heart set on an original or classic style farmhouse that would be reminiscent of her childhood. From our first impression of meeting with Jason Peterson they gave us the confidence that not only could they deliver our vision but they would also do it right. We bid out the project and selected Peterson from two other prominent builders that build in the valley because we felt like they were the most detail-oriented, aligned with our passion and goals for the project and within the scope of our budget. The experience of working with them through the project was phenomenal! They were really attentive in answering our questions, solving problems (which are too numerous to list), meeting deadlines as best they could to even installing an original barn door from my wife's grandfather's barn from the state of Maine complete with original hardware. Above all, you could really tell that Peterson and everyone that works for them (trades included) really cared about our project. Now when I walk through the home I can't help but think of the wonderful memories my family will create there. More than building a house, they built for us a home that we will cherish! Our relationship with Peterson Builders began due to a recommendation by the local hotel clerk in Eden, two years before we could even get started on our home project. Living in California, and being the designer of the home with the desire to be hands-on participants, we knew we needed a company that we could rely on to give us reins while being able to trust in their abilities, being absentee a great deal of the process. When the hotel clerk learned of our passion about building our new home she assured us that Peterson's was the group we should meet. From our very first meeting with long time Eden local Lynn Peterson, founder of Peterson Builders, we knew we were in the hands of professionals that were genuinely interested in making sure we would be comfortable and completely happy with the process. Once we were ready to proceed, our job was turned over into the capable hands of Peterson's general contractor, a master wood craftsman, Erik Johnson. Under Erik's leadership we have had the real pleasure of working with his team of professionals who have been excellent in every possible way. As for Erik, we have come to learn that any idea, unusual or otherwise that I would toss out to him, was always handled with great care and thought on how to accomplish what I had as a vision for. He always came up with a way to make things work out. We are currently about half way through the project and have been nothing but thrilled with the progress, particularly in light of the unusual aspects of our requests. From our three ton granite solid rock bathtub for our second story master bathroom to our delicate Koi fish lamps for our Zen Farmhouse style home, we are relishing the process of this project. Peterson's is innovative with the times, providing us with the Builder Trend program so we can follow the progress with photos and updates via computer; accommodating with our desire to build the way we would like; and we feel like we have a new family in our new town. As Erik and I were working on the schedule just recently, it looked like we could get the project wrapped up the week after Thanksgiving. Erik turned to me and said, "Do you want to be in for Thanksgiving? We can make that happen for you." He meant it too, and that is what good people do when they care about you and something that you are passionate about. They value and respect you, and the entire Peterson Builders company is all about that - and it shows in their work.
