We provide the selection and professional installation of custom draperies, roman shades, valances, specialty top treatments, cornices, cellular shades, blinds, shutters, woven-wood shades, solar shades, and motorization. We carry the full line of hard treatments from Hunter Douglas, Kirsch, and Norman Shutters. Motorization from Somfy, Lutron, and BTX. We also carry luxury ready made bedding from Eastern Accents Bedding and designer wallpaper from Thibaut design. We also provide custom bedding, pillows, window seat cushions, tablecloths, upholstered headboards and benches to help finish off you room's decor. Shirley did an amazing job transforming our family room! I replaced outdated window treatments with beautiful custom draperies and new blinds. I am the type that needs suggestions to help me visualize and Shirley was great in providing multiple suggestions, from customizing hardware to picking fabric and colors. She also helped us in making selections to reupholster a couch and chair for a more updated look. Couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend her!

Shirley is AWESOME! We have worked with her for several years. She is really easy to talk to and she REALLY listens. Her work is top quality and she keeps her promised time frame. IF (rarely) there is any sort of delay or issue she lets you know and accepts responsibility - doesn't ignore you or point fingers at other people. Just the other day I emailed her about a small project and lamented that I missed working with her (as often as we did when I was first getting our house in gear). She is terrific and you wil be happy to have found her and recommend her to everyone you know - like I did!

We worked with Mitchell Designs for a large home in Litchfield, CT and we could not be happier with the result. They did drapes and shades for 11 huge rooms and were able to do them within our budget and at the speed of light! They were always a pleasure to deal with and the communication was always clear and very quick. We would recommend them to anyone looking to do window treatments of high quality with a company that stands behind their work. Highly recommended!

I was looking to update my master bedroom and through my research I found Shirley. She came with lots of ideas, samples and was patient with me because I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Through our chit chat, not only did we come up with a great design but once that room as done, I hired Shirley to also do my living room, my guest bathroom, and our bonus room. She's very knowledgable, a joy to work with and since then we've become good friends.

My dining room was transformed with window panels designed by Mitchell Designs, LLC. Shirley guided me from selecting the fabric, to hardware through installation. Shirley listened as I described the feel I wanted in my dining room, provided fabric samples and searched for the perfect rod. Mitchell Designs’ panels are gorgeous. Thank you Shirley for helping me create a dining room that I describe as relaxed elegance.

Besides Shirley's professional and pleasant personality; I was amazed at her ability to listen to what we wanted for texture, design and color and her ability to come back to us with what we discussed as well as additional creative ideas. For the three projects she has done, I was overwhelmed at the idea of looking through hundreds of swatches. I asked Shirley to come back to me with a couple that she thought we would like. Her choices were perfect and fit the budget we outlined. In addition to providing beautiful fabrics and designs, Shirley helped with the hardware--which I learned is as important as the window coverings. It has been a couple of years since we had her creations installed and I honestly sit and just look at my window coverings some times! They are that beautiful and perfect for the room. I highly recommend Mitchell Designs for any window project.

I have had the opportunity to work with Shirley on several projects in my home. We started with window treatments in the family room, then moved to the living/dining room and most recently the kitchen and powder room. Each time Shirley has genuinely exceeded my expectations! She not only brings creative options in terms of style and design, she helps you to coordinate the fabric choices that fit your lifestyle. The quality of the fabrics, trim options, hardware and workmanship is outstanding. In addition, Mitchell Designs offers a "shop at home" service that is truly is a welcome option for a busy professional like myself.

Shirley Mitchell created an amazing window treatment for my kitchen. In fact, I just hired her to create a matching treatment for my sliding door. Shirley had great ideas but was willing to listen to my ideas and incorporate my style. Shirley said she would be at my house at 6:00 and arrived right on time. Shirley was awesome and very patient with me as I took some time to select my various fabrics. I had her treat seven windows total .. She came to my house for several appointments and took a lot of time with me. She was always punctual and got back to be right away. Her work is over the top in my opinion. She has a great attitude and is very kind and sincere.

Shirley was a professional, pleasant woman that guided me on the purchasing of new drapes and rods for my dining and living room. She was helpful and patient with me during the selection of fabrics, color etc. I am extremely pleased with the window coverings and would definitely recommend her to friends.
