LandStudio

LandStudio is a young Miami-based landscape design firm. Everything we do is part of our larger mission to develop creative and innovative landscape design throughout South Florida. Operated and owned by Karla Ortez since 2009, LandStudio constructs architectural designs including patios, sitting areas, children's areas, terraces and pools that incorporate natural elements such as wood, pavers, pebbles and sand. In addition to it's focus on using natural elements, one of LandStudio's main tenets is to incorporate design that attempts to create a connection between interior and exterior spaces. Karla is a graduate of Florida International University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture. Born in Honduras, Karla grew up in the tropical weather of Central America and was constantly surrounded by lush wild life. Many of her fondest childhood experiences recall an affinity to the outdoors; from a young age Karla recognized her passion for nature and its impact on humans. After obtaining her graduate degree, Karla worked at Bermello, Ajamil and Partners, a top South Florida architecture firm, were she gained experience in commercial design and urbanism. After B&A, LandStudio was born out of a need for self-expression. By incorporating more inviting exteriors, LandStudio strives to ensure that people will spend more time enjoying the outdoor spaces in their homes, as well as educating homeowners on the benefits of human coexistence with the natural world. Aesthetically, LandStudio composes gardens that hope to appease the spirit and bring people closer to nature.
