Mike and his team of craftsman remodeled a turn of the century home for me which was sited on a bluff overlooking Seattle. Mike redesigned the residence to take full advantage of the view and my lifestyle. He is part engineer, artist, architect and magician. He made the budget travel farther than I had anticipated. He was outstanding to work with. His blend of designing everything he builds provides greater cost efficiencies with outstanding results. Mike designed and built our primary residence 6 years ago and is now hard at work on a beach home for us in the south sound. I would say asking him to do a second home is the best reference for the first home success. Mike brings the rare combination of designer, general contractor and for a few days to help stay on schedule, framer. His ideas are fresh but practical- he is always striving for a successful architectural project that is livable. He is constantly weighing the cost benefit of every decision and often it isnt the most expensive solution, but when design quality or livability demands a more expensive choice he finds a way to make it work. There is no better solution than the contractor designer combination particularly when housed in a man of integrity that can make a stressful process fun. Tutmarc Associates has helped us with at least three major projects and a number of small ones.
