Jay and his team were excellent from start to finish... design, build, billing. I was so satisfied with the craftsmanship and service I had the team expand the job to not only complete my dream Wine Cellar, but to complete a build-out of our entire basement. This included included a bar area, a casual media room, refinished and expanded bath, additional storage area and a small home gym. Jay also introduced me to other excellent vendors which allowing me to personalize with finishing touches which made the project unique and our own.

Jay and his men did a great job on my wine room. Both the look and practicality of the space is better than I expected. They utilized every inch of space to make a 6-foot by 7-foot area hold many hundreds of bottles of wine + + +. Prior to the build out I was using two EuroCave refrigerators that advertised holding about 200 bottles each. They probably only held about 60% of that amount. I now literally have a space that swallows up everything I throw at it. I couldn't be happier with the result.

WV built a custom cellar for me. Came out beautiful! Jay is great to work with and his crew was quiet and clean. Also my cooling unit had a bad switch and stopped working but they were out and had it fixed within a day! Highly recommend these guys

Jay and his team built our 500 bottle glass fronted wine niche, making perfect use of dead space under the stairs down to our basement. I was impressed from start to finish with their professionalism, attention to detail and overall quality of finish. I don’t think Jay’s phone went through to voicemail a single time I called him - always answered within a couple of rings and always with straight and honest communication. Incredibly happy with the finished cellar which is whisper quiet, keeps perfect temperature and looks stunning. The photos don’t do it justice.

When we moved from NJ to Maine, our new home needed a wine cellar for our 3,000 or so bottles, many older, many Champagnes and Burgs. I contacted WVC who had done my previous cellar, which I had for fifteen years without a problem. From the planning to the completion, WVC was easy to work with, flexible, creative (solving the need for storing beers upright as well as 120+ magnums and a large number of DMs and Imps in a limited space ), on time and on budget. Our bottles are quite happy in their new home with a solid commercial refrigeration unit quietly holding a steady 54. The double deep racking is beautiful and the display shelving for the imperials and double mags is excellent. Mr Rosen is extremely knowledgable and a delight to work with, as is his experienced crew. I would recommend WVC to anyone looking for an attractive and reliable customized cellar.

Jay and his crew built my wine room over five years ago. I love it. With radiant heat in our basement floor, it took Jay's experience and creativity to overcome this challenge. His craftsmanship is superb. He was spot on with his estimate and time frame. I would use Washington Valley Cellars again if my wife would allow me to build a second wine room!

Washington Cellars did an extreme makeover on an unused and abandoned room in our basement. The room was awkward, not level and small but Jay and his team were able to transform it into a completely different area. From the tile work to the racking, Jay and his team did excellent work with a very complicated space. Now we have a wine room that we feel great about sitting in for a glass, and would recommend Washington Cellars to anyone who needs quality work.

As most of clients, my wife and I were looking for an honest team to provide a top quality wine cellar for a reasonable price. Jay and his team were the right choice. His small team members were with him for decades for obvious reasons, great team work, superb skill set, and customer focused mindset. Jay installed a 10x12 space wine cellar (1000+ bottles) and remodeled 16x18 basement area. Though Jay tried to be thorough upfront, as any other project, unexpected and last minute changes did happen, and Jay had been very accommodating, We love our little wine cellar and the secret hide-out next to it. Jay just finished building a cellar for me two weeks ago. This might be the only construction project that I experienced that finished earlier than the timeline the contractor initially promised. The total cost is also lower than what Jay promised me in the beginning. The whole process is seamless and quality is superb. I would recommend Jay to anyone who is considering building a wine cellar in a heart beat.

After a failed attempt at ordering pre fab wine racks thru the internet we found Jay Rosen through a local wine store that had used him for their own wine room. We could not have been more pleased with outcome of the project. Our project was for an 800 bottle storage room. The quality of the wood was beautiful compared to the junk we received online. We had a couple of design obstacles to work around as we had a sump pump and utility meter in the same space. Jay was very creative with the design and allowed us access to both items but did not interfere with the esthetics of the space. His pricing was very fair as we did shop around and found a wide range of costs. His workman were professional and left the space neat and tidy when finished. I cannot recommend him enough.

We hired Jay Rosen after speaking with several other contractors regarding design and price for our wine cellar project. Jay's portfolio of prior projects was impressive, his design ideas were great and his pricing was very reasonable. Jay even suggested to us that given the basement location of the cellar, we could simplify the project and save money by not installing a cooling system and with appropriate insulation we could most likely keep the cellar temperature at a reasonable level and limit temperature fluctuations. I'm happy to say that Jay was correct and the cellar stays at a perfect 58-60 degrees. Jay was flexible with design changes as we moved through the project and we were extremely pleased with the combination of his high quality hand crafted wooden racks, metal racking and beautiful stonework from his mason. His team was excellent to work with, very respectful of the house as they cleaned up after themselves and the end product turned out fantastic. High recommendation for what I thought was very reasonable pricing for high quality work and friendly service.

I called Jay Rosen to help fix a wine cellar installed by another company (Joe and Curtis). I had problems for 3 years with the refridgeration unit and I was at my wits end. Jay took on the case and sent his refrigeration man Atta who fixed in 3 hours in 1 visit that the other company could not do in 3 years. We have a Wine Cellar that had a leak due to faulty construction. I called Washington Valley Cellars and Jay came to my house on short notice to review the options. He was on time, courteous and a true professional. He assesed the damage and the construction and rather than have us rip everything out and re-do the wine cellar, he devised a quick solution which should mitigate our issue. (Note the solution he devised will result in us using the original contractor rather than Jay.) I have seen their work frist hand and now I've experience their customer service and I'm pleased to say it is top notch.

From the initial meeting with owner Jay Rosen to the final completion of the project, there was the highest level of quality and professionalism. Jay took our thoughts and ideas to develop a design that matched our home and personalities. Through the design process, we worked with Jay to adjust the initial plan as we honed in on what we wanted. The construction process was well planned and efficient. There was significant construction and redesign of the space, integrating the wine cellar into our current first floor layout. It required building walls, moving windows and baseboard heating as well as reconfiguring our first floor garage entrance. They implemented a rather complicated slate tile flooring design that we had developed, even understanding how the grout size would affect the whole pattern. Corey and his construction team were very respectful of our home. They were cautious of our children and dogs. They ensured that everyone remained safe while at our house and during all phases of construction. The racking system is beautiful. The unique design of the racks is what attracted us to Washington Valley Cellars. It is the highest quality of sapele mahogany wood and materials. The end product is stunning. It is everything that we imagined. We cannot speak more highly of Jay Rosen, Washington Valley Cellars and his construction team.

Jay's design was both practical and beautiful and his quote for the work was reasonable. His crew worked well with our general contractor (who was responsible for the balance of the project) but they handled all aspects of construction of the cellar (including insulation, installation of the cooling system, racks, tile floor, granite shelving and mahogany door). Their work was done in timely fashion and with absolute professionalism. We enjoy our cellar tremendously and get compliments from all who visit our home. The hurricane this past year ripped the chimney off our fireplace and ultimately led to us having to replace the entire fireplace. I had previously seen work done by Washington Valley Cellars and was very impressed. Although they are mostly known for their beautiful custom wine cellars, I knew that they did other projects also. My wife and I met with the owner, Jay Rosen, and after some lengthy discussions regarding our vision and his suggestions, we went ahead. We couldn’t be more pleased with both the result and the entire process. They totally get the concept of customer service. The workers were neat, efficient, courteous and highly skilled. At the end of the day, the house was left spotless. The tile we chose was a difficult tile to work with and the installer, Cory, lived up to his reputation of being one of the best. My husband and I recently completed our wine cellar with Washington valley. I hired Washington Valley Cellars to install a 1200 bottle wine cellar in the basement of our home. We loved the end product which was functional as well as nice looking. I have seen many jobs where the cellars look nice but when you really look at the design they are not very useable. WV designed and provided area for large format storage which was great as we had a few cases of cab and old vintage porto in large format to store. The refrigeration worked like a clock which I always monitor with an independent thermostat. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Although I had a small wine cellar in my basement that I built 25 years ago, I always wanted something nice on my first level, off our dining room.
