Because he was both the architect and the builder there were none of the "lost in translation" issues between designer and builder that are all too common. Steve is a better architect because he is a builder and a better builder because he is an architect. Steve plans the work and works the plan - no surprises on budget, schedule or quality. And, unlike many architects, Steve and his team are not afraid of interior design - to the contrary, they focus heavily on the functionality of the space. Steve and his group designed and built an addition to our adobe home. Although our style is very different from the modern, clean, design he normally does, he went beyond our expectation to create an absolutely gorgeous design that is not only functional but blends beautifully with the existing home. He really paid attention to what I was saying, and gave me exactly what I was hoping for and more. We couldn't be happier - and with the snow we've had this year, both my husband and I have more than once said we feel as if we are on vacation in a lodge rather than just being home!! We knew how we wanted the house to flow and we had ideas of the style we liked. Steve put the two together and came up with a design we liked on the first try. He did a great job designing the house to fit into the landscape and take advantage of the view.
