“I had a fairly sizable project that redid all of the exterior of my property. Where I was starting from: The previous owners of the property put in a poorly implemented sprinkler system, didn't maintain it, and didn't add any top soil to the back yard before planting cheap grass. This lead to systemic issues with weeds, being unable to put in plants, shrubs, or even maintain a vast majority of the lawn. In addition, the front walkway from the driveway was cracked, narrow, and uneven. About the project: Completely remove all of the exterior lawn (front, sides, back), weeds, and debris. Widen the driveway the width of the foundation, and demo and replace the front walkway with a wider curved walkway. Add new sprinkler system including a drip line to all shrub and flower bed areas, and add top soil and grading with, lawn (sod), curbing, weed barrier, 3 trees, and 2 decorative retaining walls. Working with Modern Landscaping: They were great to work with, intelligent, and easy to talk to. Their knowledge spanned a considerable collection of actual past work experiences which give them real world examples to draw from when proposing ideas. The team members were polite, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves every day. They even priced matched a competitor on some of the work. As for the results, the images speak for themselves.”

“Terry Sims as well as all her subcontractors were fabulous to work with. We worked with Terry from afar as we live in Cali-fornia at this time and she was working on a home we pur-chased in Idaho that needed a huge backyard landscape. She was always very responsive to email and phone calls and sending us the plans. The plan she came up with was so over the top fantastic. She listened to all our input regarding plants we loved, budget, and long term goals for the yard. She also did not hesitate to let us know what plants we should stay away from and offered ideas of substitution plants that would be a better choice. Her final plan to give us the privacy we were looking for, without our fence looking like a fortress of trees, was so beyond anything we could have asked for. It was like nothing we had seen when driving through the area looking for ideas. She created a park like setting throughout our en-tire yard. The waterfall she designed and implemented is worth every dollar t he yard cost us to re-landscape. Terry not only gave us the yard of our dreams but also kept in mind that we were cost conscious and that we were so far away. When we were looking at cutting costs she really edu-cated us on what we could do during a second phase, how we could use a different material, and what would be foolish to cut out. On her own she would send us updates via email and video so we could view how the yard was changing. When we were able to finally see the yard completed in May, after working with her since February, we were so pleased with the detail she put into the whole yard. She completed it on time just as we arrived from Califor-nia for a visit. Even though the project has been completed Terry has continued to answer our emails, visit the yard to check up on open issues, and support any concerns we have had since our last visit in October. I look forward to working with Terry and her crew again when I move into the home and complete the front yard transition. “I have employed Lush Gardening for 3 years and their work has always been more than satisfactory. They are timely and thorough. “Although I love my house, I was never happy with the way the outside looked. When the City informed me that I had to replace most of my sidewalk, I decided the time was right to have the landscape updated. Steve provided drawings with two distinct options. The one I chose, incorporated a brick walkway and a sculpted poured concrete walkway. Even before the planting was completed, my neighbors began complimenting me on the new look. When it was time for the plants, Steve sent me a list of plants so I could select the ones that I liked. He used many of the existing plants and incorporated new ones. He asked about my color preferences. I continue to get compliments about the landscaping. I notice that people walking their dogs often stop to look at the plantings. I am very happy with the way my front yard looks now. The design is creative, and unique. The material blend well with the house’s exterior to provide a cohesive setting.”
