“Camilla and I are little different from anyone else but building a home wasn't on our bucket list of things to do someday. Neither one of us was keen on the idea of building, but faced with limited options and a 180 day timeline with which to work, building a home seemed the least stressful of our options. Our preference in choosing professionals to work with is word of mouth so, relying on the recommendation of a friend, Brian Hester, one of Synergy Homes heating and cooling subcontractors, we contacted Maria with our situation. From the initial phone call on, it was evident this was the route we should take. Maria immediately came across as an honest, down-to-earth person with high business integrity and assured us that a project of our nature was possible, with no sacrifice in quality. A large part of our initial lack of desire for building came from the impression that it is a daunting, stressful task and the many horror stories we had heard over the years regarding unnecessary delays, inflexibility of the contractor and the contractor forbidding the homeowner from talking to the various subcontractors involved in the process. From our initial handshake forward we found none of this to be true. Instead we found that Maria's use of Co-Construct, numerous phone calls, emails and text messages were key to a highly organized, efficient and timely progression. She was able to ask pointed questions to make sure each detail was to our liking. We were encouraged to visit the job site and talk to the various trades people, this alone was appreciated; to a person we found each subcontractor fiercely loyal to Maria, highly motivated, efficient and anxious to make sure their work was what we wanted and to our liking. Although we tried to quickly decide on the items left to our choice and stay ahead of Maria's ambitious schedule, we found ourselves behind that schedule more than once! Additionally, when inevitable little issues arose, such as the tornado and torrential hail in south Lincoln, Maria and her team proved quite flexible and creative in problem solving, again with no sacrifice in quality or unnecessary delay. Another item we appreciate is the attention to detail Maria and the rest of her team display. Though many works of art are now buried under drywall, some are visible. With each house being a unique creation, these of course may vary but we noticed for instance that the bricklayer put the time and effort into filling the end row of bricks with a brick rather than just filling the brick hole with mortar as is common today. The trim carpenter took the time with his router to finish the edges of wood rather than leave them square. Several other items are noticeable but we don't want to ruin the pleasant and possibly unique surprises awaiting future clients! Our building experience as a whole was quite pleasant and enjoyable. The stress we imagined the process would be never presented itself. Maria and her whole team operate as a fairly well oiled machine and delivered a high quality, well built, on time home. We would also like to point out that our involvement with Synergy Homes was such that our daughter and son-in-law, after much research, chose Synergy to build their new home! After a year on the ground, our few warranty items were resolved quickly, efficiently and within our schedule. It was another pleasant surprise to find that not only were more items addressed than we noticed but when all was finished beyond our expectations, the cleanup was such that we could hardly tell anyone was there. This attention to the small details is just one of many reasons we feel Synergy Homes stands above the rest of the crowd. “Vasa construction built a shop for us and we were more than satisfied. The service was excellent and crew was polite and cleaned up after themselves each day. We were do pleased we had then add a new front porch, egress basement window and patio cover for us at a later date. Two years ago we had some tornado damage and Vasa was called upon again. Aaron worked with our field adjuster and all the damage was repaired or rebuilt to everyone's satisfaction. Will use them for all our remodeling and construction needs in the guture.”

“We started the end of October and the project was completed, with all loose ends finished up 8 weeks later. We used Dori Glabe, who was great to work with. She knew exactly what look I was trying to achieve and had a great eye for the details. The contractors that Gotcha Covered uses are professional and courteous. However, there was a subcontractor used that helped with the drywall, that while the job he did was great, the mess he left was not. After reviewing some of Gotcha Covered's paperwork describing what is required by them as far as cleanup goes, we expressed our concern to the general contractor. Long story short, we cleaned up the mess ourselves, which took all morning, filling a trash dumpster entirely full. This may not matter to some, but when you are living in the middle of a remodel that is taking the amount of time this took, you need things to be as orderly as possible. While understanding this is an old house, and that creates challenges that new builds don't, the attention to detail with the finish work could have been done better. My husband expressed his concern several times about two specific areas where a wall was removed. We were told it would get handled and that we wouldn't even notice the places. Well, we notice them. Putty or wood filler and paint don't cover everything. And it wasn't done to our specifications or as discussed with general contractor. I recommend making sure everything is in writing, down to the final detail, when getting contract drawn up. I am so happy we opened up our space. It looks better than what I imagined it would. All thanks to Gotcha Covered! I highly recommend the ladies that work as the designers, and for the most part the contractors. I am giving 4 stars the for issues listed above.”

We had visited some of LA's other homes and were impressed with the workmanship, design and decore of the homes. The design and construction process went extremly smooth and both Lou Nigro of LA Home and Lisza Coffey of Coffey & Co. were very attentive to every detail. I also liked the fact that we always dealt directly with Lou...we were never pushed off to employees or subcontractors. The final product was just what we wanted and expected. "Punch list" items were minimal, and all of those items were promptly attended to by Lou.
