Casa Architecture and Interior Design is the firm of Jed Miller, AIA, focusing on single-family residential design services for both new construction and remodels. My specialty is developing complete custom solutions for primary and secondary residences in the Pacific Northwest, including urban and rural locations, as well as challenging sites with steep slopes or waterfront. Teamwork among the various specialists involved in your project is critical to its success. Depending on your project, I may involve associates for interior and landscape design. For specific issues, I also consult furniture designers, sound system engineers, lighting specialists, and other experts. For the best results in the final, constructed project, I recommend using the Team Build process to involve the builder early in the design. Team Build is an alternative to the traditional design and bid process that can give you more control over your project, save you time and money, and improve quality. The traditional process typically excludes the builder from participation in the design. Find Casa Architecture and Interior Design on FOLIO, AIA Seattle's Architect Finder. Good architecture is always the result of collaboration. What we enjoy and excel in most on the job is working directly with clients and builders to procure a successful project. We do this by maximizing the owner-architect-builder-relationship within a client-centered, holistic design approach. Johnson Squared Architects work with each client to ensure that the project develops in line with their dreams, values, lifestyle and budget. Each project begins with a study of the building site with consideration of the principles of design, sustainability, and context. We consult with engineers, contractors, artisans, and other specialists to ensure that design objectives can be achieved within the project plan. We are happy to show you our current design work and perhaps discuss how we can help you with your next building or remodeling project. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

After receiving her Masters of Architecture in 1995, Barbara Rose-Leigh practiced in architecture firms until the end of 2000. Since 2000, Barbara has been a sole-practitioner, designing smaller scale residential & commercial projects. To make people happy not just for a brief moment, but every day, is the driving inspiration behind Barbara’s work. Her clients have told her they just sit back and stare at the space because it is so beautiful. For Barbara, that is the most satisfying part of each project—the homeowners’ satisfaction! She loves incorporating natural lighting and environments that support healthy living and engagement. The details where things function well and support the way people live matter—everything from the plug-in locations to the size and shape of countertop space can make our lives easier. Barbara puts immense effort and thought into each micro-level detail. A home is a personal sanctuary, and every space can evoke emotion and promote intimacy and interaction. Rose-Leigh Design creates unique, creative, and functional designs for homes that provide beauty and balance. A note from Barbara: When the fire chief had us draw our floor plans in fourth grade I realized I was looking at the blueprint for my career. For me, every line has meaning. In the rigor and exactness of drafting, lies the possibility of creation. The results are never just my creation. The greatest compliment I have ever been paid is that I listen. I listen to people, to needs, to possibilities. I really try to understand every pattern, every influence and draw out a design solution I know to be efficient and dynamic, but not to impose my personal aesthetic. I am overflowing with ideas all the time, yet what fulfills me is the confident voice that emerges from true collaboration.

Stillwater’s design heritage is grounded in the aesthetics of the masters of modern architecture. Homes seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living with generous use of glass, high ceilings, and architectural detailing to provide volume and dramatic spaces. The Stillwater team believes contemporary, architect designed prefab homes should be more accessible, more sustainable and more affordable. Flexible Stillwater building systems can be adapted for homes of any size. The same architectural details used in our smallest designs also apply to our largest. Advanced design systems and uniform construction details add efficiency and economy to help make high quality contemporary homes accessible to a broad range of tastes and budgets.

While completing her Architectural internship, under prominent residential Architects in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest, she was able to established WAKEdesign. Initially created as a drafting consultancy, her business quickly expanded as she took on residential projects of her own and began focusing her studio on Residential Design. Maggie’s desire to be efficient and effective is reflected in how she runs her studio: hands on. Each task in the design process from home measuring, meetings, designing, and construction observation is produced solely by Maggie. After over 20 years in the building industry, Martin Reimers began a private practice in Sacramento, California. Having grown up in Northern Nevada and graduating from the University of Southern California, Martin gained experience with such firms as Lundahl and Associates, Dworsky Associates (now Cannon Design), Cathexes Architects and TPC Architects. His background in architecture has been enhanced by his many years spent managing real estate development projects as well as general construction ventures. The base of operations was moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2003 and the name changed to Concept Architecture, LLC. We continue to have projects in Washington, Nevada and California. Approach: Coupling innovative ideas with realistic solutions has been a hallmark of Concept from its inception. We love what we do and it comes out in our work. Each project is tailored not only fit its local surroundings, but also take into consideration the geography as a whole. Working in a broad area has resulted in a true learning approach to each job. The project locale, neighborhood, and community are always studied. This knowledge is incorporated into each design to create a solution meeting client needs in relation to the project environment. Listening is the key to understanding and solving problems. We begin each project by learning about the project program, the client’s ideas and the reasons behind them. Getting a feel for the users - the family, the staff, the congregation, enables us to provide spaces that serve their purpose, are aesthetically pleasing and fit the budget. There are always decisions along the way. Many of these are budget trade-offs. We are adamant that good design is not necessarily tied to construction cost. A well designed building encompasses a good layout, circulation system with comfortable relationships between rooms and a good general composition that satisfies the needs of the occupants. Through the design process the client develops a true “sense of ownership”; after all, it’s your concept.
