Daniel Boardman Residential Design
Architects and Building Designers in Lost Creek, TX
13 December 2017
My wife and I bought 5 acres of land in order to build our dream house. We interviewed several Architects before selecting Daniel, and we are very happy we chose him. We wanted something different from the typical suburban production house that we had in Circle C Ranch. The design process with Daniel was fun and exciting as we figured out the how to best fit our home to the sloping land. We designed a home that specifically met our site and design goals. Daniel is very creative, really thinks out of the box, but is also conscious of figuring out the most cost efficient way to get what he is looking for and still maintain the integrity of the design. He was very receptive to our ideas and had positive input and information to help us design an addition to our home. It was a complicated design equation because we had to incorporate ADA livability. His lateral thinking made our ideas for these challenges even better. Can't thank him enough for his professionalism and friendly disposition. He was also very accommodating to our difficult schedules for meetings. Can't recommend him highly enough!
Tom Hurt Architecture
Architects and Building Designers in Lost Creek, TX

Tom Hurt Architecture remodeled our very dated '70s home in central Austin into a contemporary treasure 10 years ago. They creatively and cost effectively tackled no small challenge of a house on a very pitched lot with a number of structural complications. Their work to bring natural lighting into spaces is most thoughtful. One should expect very special touches and unique ideas when working with Tom Hurt Architecture on a new project or even a simple addition or remodel. In fact, we came back to Tom Hurt Architecture for a small addition in 2014 -- who knew that a mudroom and storage space could be so beautiful and inviting? Most importantly, they listen, hear and execute to a client's specific direction -- in a unique way with delightful surprises.

I can't tell you how much I love our Lake Travis home Donovan Davis drew/designed for us. I am certainly not the easiest to please and I am absolutely thrilled with the end results. Donovan was able to capture the lake views from every room and achieved it with amazing style and design. Not only do we have a view from every room but we can see the stars and the moon from several rooms which is truly amazing and one of my favorite features! Donovan was fun to work with, he listened to all of our wants and made my dreams a reality. He surpassed all of my expectations and his passion for Architectures shows when you look at my home. We have had numerous people stop to say how much they like the design of our home so don't hesitate to use this firm they are true professionals that love what they do! Thank you Donovan and Harrison Davis!
Barley|Pfeiffer Architecture
Architects and Building Designers in Lost Creek, TX
20 February 2013
We came to Barley & Pfeiffer after exploring a lot of options for our old but not-distinctive house. We were impressed with the way Peter Pfeiffer's house, which we saw on a home tour, embodied sustainable building practices without looking funky. We wanted a project that would incorporate the details that we loved from our old house with smart, energy efficient construction and a contemporary layout suitable for our growing family. We found that Barley & Pfeiffer as a firm provided all the skills we needed to come out at the end with the house we wanted. Alan's design skills, Peter's building science knowledge, and Scott's detailed project management work all combined to give us a beautiful house that works really well for our family, has very low maintenance requirements, and consumes dramatically less energy than most other houses, both of a similar size and much smaller. The money we have not spent on heating and cooling this house in the past seven years could well pay for a new car. If you are going to spend the money to substantially renovate an existing home or build a new home, think carefully about what it will cost to maintain what you end up with. "Green building" is a trend now and many builders and architects claim to be "green," but few firms have the depth of expertise and years of dedication to sustainable building that Barley & Pfeiffer can provide. What you spend up front on excellent design and construction management will be recouped many times over in savings on the cost of living and maintenance. We enjoyed working with Barely & Pfeiffer and would choose them again.

We had a wonderful home building experience and were so thankful that we used Todd. We only interviewed one other builder, but there was something about Todd and what he said that made us decide to choose him. We were 1st time builders and didn't even check his references or know the right questions to ask before we decided on him. It wasn't until the building process when we saw our home coming together that we started to fully appreciate all the aesthetic skill Todd had to offer. We would ask how this or that would be, and he would sometimes use the phrase "let's see what the house calls for when we get to that point". We began to realize how special and unique that flexibility and sensitivity in a builder really was. Our home is stunning and if we ever decide to build again, we wouldn't consider using anyone else. MF Architecture

MF Architecture is a full service architectural firm. One of the unique aspects of this firm is the owner, Matt Fajkus, is also a professor at the University of Texas. As a result, the firm has access to the very best talent. My wife and I were quickly impressed with the members of the firm. They are sharp, responsive, meticulous, and most of all work very well with people. The team is diverse and cater to everything Austin has to offer. We are currently in the middle of a smaller project approximately $250k. We are looking forward to not only completing our project, but maintaining a long-term relationship and going forward referring our friends and family. I am very grateful for being introduced to MF Architecture.

Plural Office is an exceptionally creative group that was able to come up with multiple options for our backyard project. They paid detailed attention to our needs and patiently worked with us through the design process. We look forward to having construction begin on the project they designed for us and will hire them again for remodeling work.
Ed Hughey, Architect & Realtor
Architects and Building Designers in Lost Creek, TX
6 August 2014
Ben Arbib and Ed Hughey are wonderful to work with and bring experience, talent and fantastic design to any project. We recently remodeled a 1950s home that needed a complete overhaul. Ben and Ed brought their design skills as well as creativity to the project. They followed our project through and helped us make sure that what we had designed together was actually being done. They are good listners and are able to incorporate the client's interests/ideas into the project.
