“It was great working with Richard - he has unbounded enthusiasm for creating environmentally healthy homes which use as little on-grid energy as possible. His creative ideas regarding passive solar heating meshed right in with my less-educated desires. The end result is an Energy Star certified home with passive solar heating and active solar water heating .... and it looks good too!!!!”

We were going to do the project design ourselves, but heard about JDS through local contractors and decided to retain Joe Duket based on what we heard about his work. We are very glad we did. Joe was far more creative not only with products but with space and design. He envisioned things we did not, from electrical and plumbing fixtures to cabinets and countertops and were able to see everything before it was done using his computerized model. “Arcon Architects & Builders designed and built our wonderful house on Lake Keowee in Seneca South Carolina. Their professional expertise coupled with years of practical experience ensured the house not only met our family's needs but was built on time and within budget. By carefully assessing the building site Arcon ensured the house afforded great lake views from every room while minimizing the need to remove mature hardwood trees that I so love. They coupled the site plan with wonderful architectural features like 3 foot overhangs to minimize afternoon sun and allow the windows to stay open even during the rain ! In addition the cantilevered deck affords a sense of "floating over the lake" while maximizing the views from the lower level rooms. Oh .. and did I mention the screen porch and stone fireplace, the barrel vaulted front entry, the beams and massive stone fireplace in the great room .. and and and ! They just did a great job for us !”
