“Courtney was very courteous, knowledgeable, and patient. She continues to answer all of my questions and has walked me through the design and build process step by step.”
kimberly peck architect
Architects & Building Designers in Coney Island.
“I live in Manhattan and have a country house in the Catskills upstate. The house is a contemporary design built in the mid 1970's. The "bones" were great but the aesthetic was completely wrong. We had Kimberly redesign the interior of the entire house - from moving electrical work, plumbing, windows and walls to choosing finishes and fixtures. She is amazing and I have referred her to many friends and clients. Next.... the apartment.”
Ben Herzog
Architects & Building Designers in Coney Island.
“I found Ben Herzog Architects while browsing Houzz.com. I would add photos to my ideabook and discovered that most of the projects were done by Ben! Ben has been great helping us decide how we can maximize space in our 1917 Brooklyn row house. We have decided on a more open floor plan, new wood plank floors, high hat lighting, a bit larger kitchen space with higher ceiling and an island, a shallow broom closet and banquette seating in our dining room. The demolition began 9/5/12 and as a result we have discovered that we can open up the doorway openings even more than planned! Ben is happily revising his drawings and I can't wait to see the changes! Ben and his team are easy to work with and very helpful with design and product ideas while keeping our budget in mind!”
Jane Kim Architect

“We (Cornerstone Mechanical Inc.) have done many HVAC jobs for Jane Kim Design. They always give their clients exactly what they ask for and beyond. They are professional, creative, innovative, knowledgeable, but most importantly trustworthy and reliable. My full recommendation for Jane Kim Design!”

“Niv is a patient, insightful and incredibly talented designer. He listens to what his clients needs are, and provides appropriate solutions that fit within their budget. Niv works equally well with contractors and other members of the design team. He is relentless in his pursuit of the precise and proper execution of his vision in the best way possible for his client's benefit. I have happily recommended Niv to my clients in the past and will gladly do so in the future.”
John Patrick Cunningham / Architect
Architects & Building Designers in Coney Island.
“My husband and I are absolutely thrilled with the work performed by John Patrick. He went above and beyond to ensure that our vision and goals were captured in the final design. We know that when we finally move into our renovated home, we will enjoy it that much more because we worked with John.
We bought a1930s colonial - our first home - and while we knew that something needed to be done to it, we couldn't figure out exactly what. John Patrick is a highly trained and skilled designer, who helped us realize ideas about our space that we didn't see before. Not only did he come up with beautiful and practical solutions to the problems we saw in the home, he willingly worked within the existing constraints of the space, i.e., the location of plumbing, load-bearing walls, etc.
We held frequent check-points during our design phase. During each one, John Patrick was thoughtful and professional. We never felt embarrassed or uncomfortable bringing our ideas to the table. He was always very tactful in explaining which ideas made sense and which could be reconsidered in order to maximize space and functionality. We wanted to work with an architect who would share his professional expertise, and not simply sketch whatever we asked him to. John is definitely that architect. And yet, when there were personal elements that my husband and I were unwilling to bend on - no matter how impractical - John found a way to make them work.
After each check-point, John created great drawings that helped us visualize the space. These were invaluable for two business professionals trying to make design choices with no design experience. Once our designs were final, John even produced renderings that helped us select fixtures and furniture to fit in our space. These renderings alone have received glowing compliments from all our friends and colleagues.
The renderings were also very impressive to our contractor, who is overseeing the construction of our home, as were the construction documents that John produced. The construction documents helped us during the bid phase, when we were trying to select a contractor, and have served as the “source of truth” during the construction phase.
We absolutely recommend working with John Patrick Cunningham. You will be happy you did!”
CBH Architects
Architects & Building Designers in Coney Island.
“I have on several occasions hired architects-designers, but Bob stands out head and shoulders above everyone. Bob listens carefully to your needs, and brings extensive expertise and creativity to his work. Bob created a new walk-in closet for us, and we ended up with a result that exceeded my vision for it — and well within budget.”
Saheb Architecture
Architects & Building Designers in Coney Island.
“Ritu is an inspired, gifted professional and a pleasure to work with. I moved to a small town far away from my hometown on the East Coast to take a two-year academic job. I hired Ritu to decorate my apartment in a way that would inspire me in my academic work and make me less lonely in a new town.
She made my small apartment seem larger by making each area -- the living room, the den, and the bedroom -- into its own thematic space, to suit a particular mood. In the living room, she chose bright colors and varied furnishings, inspired by my favorite colors, red and orange. She found astronomical prints that I had admired as a child to hang on the wall.
In the den, she chose a softer, muted palette, turning that space into a contemplative zone where I can work on my research papers.
Ritu seemed to intuitively understand what I wanted, and achieved a result that I could not have achieved on my own. I am very grateful for her work!
I look forward to the opportunity to hire her for the gut renovation of my apartment in New York, which I plan to do upon my return to New York. I would like to see what she can do for me with a larger "blank slate."
Thank you, Ritu!”
