“'When we moved into our 1920’s stone colonial, it was in drastic need of updated wiring, plumbing, and mechanics. We also wanted to update the interior, making it more inviting and use-able for our family needs while still honoring the feel of this century old home. When we first spoke with Emily, we knew right away she would be someone to help make this massive transformation, a joy, rather than burden. From start to finish, Emily was incredible, patiently listening to our visions for the house, curating designs, textures, colors, and pieces, all based on observing and understanding our own styles. “We had a wonderful experience working with Rasmussen/Su on a kitchen renovation. Our home was built in 1879, and it had a cramped and dark kitchen. Kevin & Vivian really listened to what mattered to us (having a space that works for an active family and opens the kitchen up to the rest of the first floor) and they were able to incorporate those things into the design. They have experience with historic homes and local regulations and took care of the arduous permit process. They were there during construction when we ran into the unexpected things you discover in an old house. They also helped with the design details and decisions you have to make during a project. We now have an amazing space where everyone gathers to cook, do homework, and just be together.”

“As new house owners, we left a condo living and decided to move into a house. We ultimately decided to purchase an older house and customize it to our tastes and needs. I had used Houzz.com to source some architects to help us out. We found Robert and a few others but it was Robert that accompanied me to house inspection for one and then also accompanied me to view the house we ended up purchasing. From start to finish, he was there. We utilized Houzz.com albums to collect photos and ideas to share so he could get a better sense of our needs and wants. He managed pretty much everything from the contractors to the purchasing of items. He also has a great eye for detail so when he conducted the final walk (we were traveling) and approved it, I didn't worry about him missing anything. As new home owners new to renovation, we did go over budget and in the end, we did have to omit some of the items/detailing that we wanted which was frustrating but Robert provided us alternatives so that we could discuss and decide. In the end, with the budget issue and not having the home 100% to what we wanted, we are still very happy with the project. People who have seen the home before are amazed at the results. We are very happy to have found Robert. As non-creative home owners who have never renovated a home, we would have never come up with some of the concepts he produced. He enabled us to customize this house enough that it meets our aesthetic and functional needs. Robert is very diligent and detailed. I think he may have been too detailed for us (ha) but as a result of me giving in to him, we have a stand out master bathroom. I view our home a great learning experience into the area of renovation. I now have Robert to use as a standard.”

“Wyant Architecture created beautiful and enriching living spaces for our family. We have worked with Jeff and Maria on many projects in our Philadelphia townhouse (circa 1876) ranging from straightforward renovations of existing bathrooms, to a kitchen renovation which involved moving walls and opening up sight lines, to a very complex addition. Jeff and Maria have an outstanding design sense retaining older features and incorporating contemporary elements in our home. In addition to everything else, Maria is particularly savvy about kitchen design and functionality. Their aesthetic guidance on the selection of materials – wood, tile, glass, metals, paint colors – is invaluable. They are visionary and able to problem solve creatively. They are able to propose creative design solutions that are well within budget. Jeff and Maria have excellent technical skills. Their attention to detail upfront makes the pricing and construction phases go as smoothly and as efficiently as possible. Working with Jeff and Maria is a wonderful experience. They listen attentively and respond promptly and creatively. They collaborate well with everyone – client, contractors, structural engineers, City Hall – and when necessary are strong advocates for their clients. We almost hate to be done with our architectural projects as we miss our regular interaction with them!”

“Jeff Spoelker was excellent through the whole process. My wife and I loved the work that he had done when he was with Lyman Perry Assoc. We wanted the Nantucket look even though we were only building on an 18 acre lake. One of his strengths beyond design was bringing ideas to us on types of light fixtures, flooring choices, and even landscape options that would work. For example, as we moved through the planning process, Jeff recommended that we put in a fire pit down by the lake. We would have never thought of it. We have had so much fun using it with friends, family and neighbors. The bottom line for us was we really didn't know what we wanted when we started thinking about building our "dream home". Hiring a good architect is a must. Jeff is one of them!”
