BUYERS BEWARE!!! My husband and I are in the middle of buying a home with this company at their Hillcrest development in Chino Hills. It has been nothing but a huge headache filled with mind games. We have been treated with lies and disrespect. If it wasn't for us wanting this house so badly, and the time already spent with them (since December 2016) we would have taken our money elsewhere.
First off their previous sale manager Pam was a true piece of work. We were interested in a specific lot that was originally not going to be released in the second phase and when we expressed our interest in that lot and not any currently available she told us; " well, that lot isn't going to be available for a long time, so it looks like you will be living at your in-laws for a long time." (Who says that to a consumer?!)Mind you she was the one who rushed us to sell our previous home and jump through all her hoops to become a non-contingent buyer. She made us feel like we were competing with all these other buyers...come to find out didn't even exist!! Overall just a sour person to deal with. After all her license plate was "UBUGPAM".. should have been a clue. Luckily the company let her go.
Now fast forward to the new issues and new team. We signed our contract with our outside loan office present and sales associate Joe. We were given a good amount of incentive credit to use. We currently have about $34,000 left. At the time of our meeting we asked for all options as to what we could use our credit on Joe mentioned HOA fees, backyard landscaping, design center upgrades, and buying down our interest. We loved the idea to buy down our interest since we were not impressed with our experience and option selection at the design center. They also have horrible reviews from other buyers from previous Woodbridge developments. As do the contractors they get their materials from. I made a copy of all prior complaints and showed Joe at the meeting and expressed our concern. He suggested for us to get a quote on landscaping and use the rest to buy down our interest, so that's what we agreed on doing. We left our meeting happy to go that route and called the design center and told them to put standard counters and tile since we would rather buy down our interest, and hire our own contractors to do the tile and counter work. Well, Come to find out Joe starts asking our loan office why we haven't used any of our credit? (which was a lie we used more than half.) He also asked our loan office why we wanted to rip out the counters and not have the design center do them. This was highly suspicious so our loan officer decided to share this with us. Come to find out Joe left on vacation without following up with us. We find it inappropriate to ask our loan officer those question since he's not part of that decision in the first place. I then expressed my concerns with Polly because she said that information of us using our credit to buy down our loan with an outside loan company was not a valid option, but if we were with their inside lender EverBank than we could. For anyone that might not know this, this is called ILLEGAL STEERING!!! They can not penalize us for using an outside lender. I respond to Polly's response and she has the audacity to tell me to "calm down"! This blew me away as it was demeaning and disrespectful. I am the consumer! I am investing over $1.2 million I have every right to be concerned.
Overall this isn't even half of what we have had to deal with. I'm unhappy and would warn any future buyers of the negative experience we've had with this company.
