From the first meeting, Carrie was able to quickly understand our needs and the scope of our home improvement project. Ours was not just about coordinating decor with color and furniture. It was about upgrading the house by paying attention to electrical work, window and garage door replacements, closet designing, handyman items, painting, replacing a couple of appliances in the kitchen, and finally to tie it all together - putting in the window treatments and buying furniture. Carrie has been able to guide us through each of these steps by putting us in touch with the companies that provide these services, coordinating with them for signing contracts, and also weighing in with her opinions of what would fetch us the biggest bang for the buck. As designer, Carrie of course has her personal favorite thing to do. But when that personal favorite thing to do has not been what we want, she has been able to enthusiastically present us with options that are more in line with our likes. She truly honors her principle of facilitating her clients do what is most comfortable for them in their home. Our current project is drawing to an end now, but I would certainly get in touch with Carrie Wissner once again for any home improvement / designing needs that might come up in future. Carrie is currently working with my husband and I on our new home in Short Hills, NJ. The house is a historic Hartshorn home built in the 1880's and has needed quite a bit of work done to it. Carrie has been wonderful to work with. She has excitement for her work and is very organized. She has been able to grasp our style and needs to a "T" and has made the process of choosing things very easy for us. She has been able to find a perfect balance of keeping the old charm of the home while adding modern flair to fit our personalities. Carrie was hired to help us furnish our new home. She provided guidance in style, colors, quality, quantity, room layouts and the placement for each item, Her scope was not just limited to furniture, but also, Lighting, Window Treatments, Rugs, Mirrors, Wall Coverings and Wall Treatments.. In addition, she was involved in the purchasing direction for most of the home, be it the contractor or dealer / distributors. Her work was used for both, the social areas and bedrooms of the house. I don't know about you, but decorating a home can be overwhelming. working with a decorator can help if you find the right one. Carrie was referred to me through a friend who loved her work. After meeting her I knew why...she made the process of designing the bathrooms and kitchen easy. Paint colors and upholstery was actually fun to shop for. She knew all the right places to go to find treasures and we actually saved some money along the way. Decorating your home is very personal and sharing the experience with someone who understands that is priceless. I love Carrie and will continue to use her until my home is complete.
