My wife and I used Walters Homes starting in 2017. They have a great outfit and made the process of designing, knocking down, and rebuilding our house easy. Their people are nice to work with and accommodating. The quality of work is very good and they completed the house on the time schedule that they gave us when we started. After researching a number of residential builders in the Long Beach Island area for building an investment/retail home, we chose Walters Homes based on our understanding of their thorough approach for managing each step in the construction process. We wanted a one-stop shop vendor so that we only had to manage and interact with one vendor who was accountable for every step, task, sub-contractor, etc. - and that is what we got with Walters. The primary objective for our construction was to break ground shortly after Labor Day, 2016 in order to have the property ready for the 2017 summer rental season. The result, after a shaky start in the design process, which delayed the start of construction by a month, Walters completed construction, with certificate of occupancy issue, two weeks early, and $10,000 under budget. The company has resolved the issues, which were primarily the result of one individual, so they have shown that they are listening to their clients, and fixing problems as required. Once we moved past the initial issues, the Walters team on our project which included Victor Farano and Kristen Kocses were experienced, informative, organized and responsive to all of our requests, questions, changes, etc. as the project moved forward. I received bi-weekly status reports, which provided peace of mind that the project was progressing as expected, and noted any changes or issues, which could be dealt with in a timely manner. Every time we visited the site, any and all workers were courteous and informative to any of our questions or requests. In addition, they left the property spotless each and every day - I think that is one of their keys to following a structured, repeatable process which results in a cost efficient and productive process. Upon completion, or actually as we were approaching completion, the transition to the warranty group, with Terri Morelli as our key contact, was very smooth and much appreciative. It was done in a time frame that enable any issues to be identified and addressed prior to the final inspection and closing. And the closing process was one of the easiest we have ever experienced. Since taking over the property, Terri has remained responsive in addressing any issue that has been identified, and I expect that to not change moving forward. And to know after the end of the first year the hoe will get a fresh coat of paint, and have any issues resolved is just another example of the peace of mind we were looking for, and have received from Walters.

pros: + very competitive cost, most bang for the buck (even when compared to modular home builders) + very fast construction (< 6 months from demo of old home to completion of new construction). cons: - extremely slow follow-up on warranty items (In house for 5 months now, still waiting for completion of several cosmetic fixes.)

I hired Walters to build a home for me in Ortley Beach after Sandy had destroyed my former home. I really love my new house--it is the Sandpiper model. It is well built and has exceeded all my expectations. It is also an Energy Star house and is very efficient. My utility bills have been surprisingly low. If you are building in the Ocean County area, I highly recommend Walters Homes.

Impeccable Work!!!! Working with the Walters team was a great experience. Everyone you speak to is vested into your project, starting from sales to post construction. As a buyer you know the cost of everything before it starts. There are no hidden fees or surprises that come at the end of the construction. My wife and I had reviewed 7 contractors before finally agreeing to work with Walter's group. The construction project took 5 months to complete. The permit process was 2 months and the selection process about 1 month, total 8 months. Everything that went into the process was very straightforward, from the planing to the selection of options that you want to install in the home. It was such a relief of not having to worry about when they were going to start the project because we would get weekly updates on the progress of our home. They take a lot of the common worries that consumers encounter when working with builders. It was an amazing experience working with them.

I needed repairs on certain things, I called, they complied, problem fixed. It took a couple of tries before they got it right, but was rectified. One problem remains tho, still waiting for a call from the company concerned.

Every team member that I had worked with at Walters Homes was professional and helpful. The project of building a new home came in on budget and on time (a little early). Our new home is energy efficient and very comfortable- several contractors that have worked at the house (cable installations & others) have commented on the craftsmanship of the house. Neighbors have also complimented us on the way Walters Homes kept the work site neat and safe when the house was under construction. I could not be happier with the house and would definitely hire Walters Homes in the future.

I was a hurricane Sandy victim. I met with Ed Walters and he promised to build a good house. He was a man of his word. The house he built was all and more. His staff professional and organized. We were very pleased with our home built by Walters Homes. We chose the West Wind Model which is excellent for us. You were able to pick various options. They run an excellent Warranty Department. Our home had some minor issues which were addressed and fixed by Walters Homes. My wife and I would recommend Walters Homes for your building needs.
