We are so thankful that we had Bill Lindberg as a consultant in planning our forever home. Downsizing can be stressful but thanks to Mr. Lindberg we do not feel that we are giving up anything in comfort, style or space. Our modest 1500 square foot home design will have everything we could possibly want in a home. His input and suggestions were invaluable.

Bill Lindberg designed a house for my wife and I and then managed the construction. Bill interviewed Jamie and I for 90 minutes, asking questions about our lifestyle, what we liked, did not like, did we entertain, what hobbies did we have, did we cook, did we like the outdoors. He came back a few days later with a sketch which nailed all of our care-abouts. He then worked with us on the details, window placement, stairs, keeping major spaces open, optimizing view, decks, patio, fireplaces, etc. Bill played the role of coach, providing advice but never forcing a particular solution upon us. He also recommended a couple of builders, one of which we selected. As the construction proceeded, we worked with Bill and the builder to pick out finishes and design the interior. It was a collaborative and positive exercise throughout the entire project. Bill was able to meet deadlines, the most important being to obtain the building permit before the setbacks were increased. At one point, we were unhappy with the bid from the electrical contractor and Bill facilitated an alternate bid, coming in $10k less and still doing outstanding work. We are extremely happy with Bill's work, we love our house and plan to live in it for the foreseeable future.

When we decided to add a ground floor master suite to our home two years ago, we knew we wanted an architect who would be responsive to our needs and knowledgeable about building practices, energy-efficiency, green construction options, etc. We wanted someone who would respect the design of our existing home and make the new addition blend seamlessly and naturally with it. We sought an architect who had good working relationships with local contractors and who had a roster of satisfied clients. All of those requirements were met - and exceeded - in Bill Lindberg and his team. Bill studied our house and turned our hazy expansion ideas into a beautiful, functional design. He suggested a number of enhancements that we'd never thought of (like a floating glass relight above the bedroom door, a cedar beam above the master bathroom shower), and he worked hard to incorporate the things we really wanted (for example clerestory windows in the closet, a double-faced gas fireplace). He actually greatly improved the aesthetics of the front facade by incorporating a beautiful portico/front entry into the design. Bill worked with us to put our project out to bid to several excellent contractors in order to get the best price. He helped us identify our selected contractor who turned out to be outstanding. Bill was always available to the contractor whenever there were surprises or questions during construction. He was careful and responsible concerning change orders, and he handled the curves we occasionally threw him (Oh! We'd like to add this cool thing!) with grace and good humor. He came out to inspect the project periodically, either just to see how it was going, or to confer with the builder and us. Our project was completed on schedule just about a year ago, frequent visitors to our home have commented on how beautifully the addition turned out. And one of the best testimonials to Bill's performance is from the people who have come to our home for the first time, and who don't realize the addition was built almost 20 years after the original house was constructed. We strongly recommend Lindberg & Smith to residential customers who have high standards and who want to work in close partnership with a strong, professional architectural team.

We worked with Bill Lindberg for 10 years prior to the construction of our home. This involved many sets of plans and numerous meetings. Bill is the consummate professional. His knowledge concerning building materials is encyclopedic. He is also a very good listener and very easy to work with. Bill is very aware of any cost constraints that his clients have and is able to provide options that will allow the client to stay in budget. He always kept us informed of any potential cost over runs concerning changes to the original plans. Bill did a great job with the design of our Northwest craftsman style home. He is personable, knowledgeable and has many years of experience helping clients navigate the permitting process. He is a great choice to design one's home.
