This husband and wife design and contractor team is great to work with. They have an excellent team of talented craftsmen that also are great to work with. The project manager and craft folks worked together extremely well, and I enjoyed hearing their problem-solving discussions. It was not easy to make the changes to my bathroom, especially accomplishing a flat entry to the room from the hall and a flat entry into the shower, but they did it. It also was obvious that they take great pride in the work they do. And communication with me was excellent. I was kept informed about the status of the project, including summaries and photographs when I was out of town. The team also adjusted the work schedule so that the tear-out was accomplished when I was away for two weeks at the beginning of the project and so that the floors could be refinished when I was away again toward the end project for the holidays. I hope to use this team again for future renovation projects.

Beverly Thomas did all the construction for a total renovation of our kitchen, dining area, and powder room. The results are lovely and way beyond our expectations. The workers were very professional and their work was done in a high quality manner, with attention to detail. Everyone involved was easy to work with, listened to our input, and were true crafts-people in how they did the work. The job was well managed. We received daily updates on the work done and planned. We recommend Beverly Thomas and will ourselves use this company again.

Beverly Thomas created the most exquisite living space in our 1928 Arts and Crafts home-- we were most definitely a "diamond in the rough" when Tom Bijak and Beverly Brunetti took on our project. The bones of the house are wonderful; it was all the other stuff that was in desperate need of updating. And what we have now is a gem, all due to Beverly's gorgeous, historically respectful design and Tom's amazingly efficient, organized and thorough workmanship. Design notes: we needed a renovation that echoed the original vintage design of the house-- without having a fussy look. From knocking down a wall, replacing 95-year-old plumbing to creating an archway that looked like it was part of original home to adding tiny elements such as a recessed shelf in the new arch, Beverly Thomas built everything just perfectly. The sub crews were phenomenal-- true artisans who are real masters of their crafts. I received almost daily photos and summaries of the day's work, with projections for the next day's work. A very important point here: at no point did I have any surprise big expenses.. At every point in the project Tom worked carefully to stay on budget, which he did. It was absolutely my lucky day when I met this wonderful team.

From pre-proposal to post-finish inspection Tom and Beverly’s team were first class. Our project, the complete renovation of the upstairs bathroom in a 1950’s townhouse, presented space and age challenges. Tom offered options based on our wish list and restrictions that were thoughtful and considerate of our needs. He helped us make choices within the constraints of our budget and the structure. The first day of the job he introduced us to the team that would handle the project including project manager, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, tile layers, and painters. The team was fully communicative on a daily basis as to timing of work; who would be doing what and when; asked us about our preferences and answered questions as they proceeded with work; addressed and resolved unforeseen issues; cleaned up at the end of each day, and were respectful of our time limitations and property throughout the project. And they were patient with the presence of an inquisitive 2-year-old! Tom and Beverly were a pleasure to work with and in the end produced a very high quality product that we are pleased to enjoy.

The Beverly Thomas team was top notch from start to finish. The estimate was reasonable, the work quality was superb, and when unplanned situations arose, they were quick to recommend efficient was to correct. They draw upon a lot of knowledge and experience. The carpenters enjoy their job, and it shows in their work. Tom sends out a near daily report of progress with photos and next steps. There is no question as to the progress of the work. I will use them again when the time comes.

My project included replacement of floor, stairs and railings of an open back porch and the screening of an arm of the porch under the roof of the house. Included in the plan was bringing older construction in the foundation up to code. The rails and posts of the exposed part were replaced with pvc and the screened part framed with cedar. At every stage...demolition, carpentry, finishing, I was introduced to the people who would be doing the work, so there were no strangers here. The reports I got from the contractor with photographs and a list of that day's work kept me apprised of the progress, along with plans for the next day. The work was accomplished with efficiency, questions answered without delay and changes on my part met with agreeable solutions. The company and its' staff were a pleasure to work with and would be my first choice for another project.

We had our existing unfinished basement renovated to include a new bathroom, storage room, dry bar and entertainment area. We can't say enough great things about Tom and the Crew. Tom developed an accurate cost estimate that helped us throughout the process with decisions. Jay communicated with us regularly and made sure we had time to make decisions to keep the schedule on track. When the cabinets we ordered came in (and did not quite look as we wanted), they developed some custom shelving that worked perfectly. It was a great experience, and we'd recommend them for your future projects.

Tom and his team remodeled three bathrooms in my Alexandria townhouse. They stood out over other contractors I have used in the past in terms of craftsmanship, attention to detail, timeliness of work, reliability and communication with me at every step of the process. I was often out of town while work was proceeding, so they sent me daily photos (sometimes videos) and narrative reports of each day’s work done to keep me updated. They always answered promptly, and often immediately, my calls and emails about the project. They left the work site clean at the end of each day. Finally, the project came in on budget with no “surprises” in terms of cost, and it started and was completed on schedule.

We are so happy with our new basement! Beverly Thomas LLC gutted the whole thing, moved and expanded the bathroom, put in new floor, new lights, built-in shelves, the works. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and they were responsive and communicative the whole way through. We will definitely be returning to them for future projects. Thanks, Tom and crew!

Beverly Thomas LLC just completed an attic renovation in my home — a week ahead of schedule and on budget. That never happens!! Tom and his team did a terrific job, and and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. Their work was meticulous and of the highest quality. Each night, Tom sent photos of the work that was accomplished that day, along with the next steps to be completed. Whenever I had a question or concern, Tom got back to me immediately. In addition to the great work, the whole team was terrific to deal with. I can’t say enough good things about Beverly Thomas. I highly recommend them.

I could not be more satisfied or more delighted with the complete renovation of my kitchen - along with the completion of a number of other large, ancillary tasks – by Barbara Thomas LLC under the remarkable supervision of Mr. Tom Bijak. I have never worked professionally with anyone who is as knowledgeable about his craft, utterly transparent about all aspects of the job including cost, honestly respectful of his client’s hopes and constraints and, above all, practiced in the highest of ethical standards. It is not surprising, then, that his staff and those he has selected as his subcontractors are talented, excellent problem solvers, good natured and similarly hard-working and honest. As far as describing instances of high quality effort and care; I could describe scores, but will only write that I echo the compliments of all the previous reviewers here. I feel remarkably safe in my home now because of all of the kinks and quirks and downright dangerous conditions Tom and his staff additionally corrected. As to the design, it is everything I could have hoped for and more. The first review from a neighbor is in. “Stunning.” After my experience I am not at all surprised that Beverly Thomas LLC is rated as one of the very top general contractors in Northern Virginia. It is additionally not surprising that all 88 of the listed reviews here so far are 5 stars/5 stars. I give Beverly Thomas LLC the highest of recommendations.

A roofer put his foot down through the drywall on our MBR ceiling, Beverly Thomas was the subcontractor given the job. Great work, polite crew. Honest - the drywall mud wasn't completely dry, and instead of painting over damp mud and calling it a day they postposed the work until it was dry. Finished product looks phenomenal. Crew was masked the whole time they were in the house.
