About Us

We design new houses and cottages expressive of historic building traditions yet well-adapted for today. Our projects have spanned the range of traditions from (1880s) Queen Anne to (1950s) Midcentury Modern. Designs are consistent with the specific period while fully up-to-date in terms of structure, comfort, energy conservation and technology. We also design sympathetic well-integrated renovations and additions for houses of all periods and styles. From decades of work in historic preservation our special expertise is in adapting pre-1960 buildings without losing their character or charm. We create with our clients projects that will be a good fit for their needs, and provide enduring satisfaction. We offer clients full architectural services from initial ideas through construction. Check out our Houzz Ideabooks on topics of traditional design. Each includes a short introduction and up to fifty captioned photos. They are works-in-progress, advanced by the images and insights we find.
