Ric Stott is a wonderful architect to work with. When we first met, I explained to him my extreme sensitivities to VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) chemicals and molds. He worked with me to ensure that my new home was designed to be safe and healthy. He is on top of each detail, and always willing to help source out lighting, hardware, etc. Ric is always open to new thoughts and possible changes to his design. On the other side, if some idea must be eliminated due to code, or the working of the house, he always finds a creative solution. I am very excited about the new home that Ric and his crew have created for me. I can't wait to move in!

I brought Rick Stott to review a site I was considering purchasing. I found an old barn I wanted to repurpose as a home. Knowing of Stott's incredible green projects and other successful renovations I trusted he would be able to assess the site and discuss its possibility to be a home. I wanted an honest appraisal of the potential of this concept before purchasing the property. I had reinvented a historic carriage into a stunning home but this site was different... It really was an outbuilding with little architectual grace. Rick spent hours with me examining the structure. He finally said, "Kathy, if you want a barn I can build you the Disneyland of barns, but it will cost you a fortune to make this into what you want...and you won't be happy. Let's look for another barn." I cannot tell you how much I appreciated his honesty and candor.....I am still looking for the barn for Stott to make home.

Stott's Modern Green Barn in Sagaponack, Long Island is one of the most innovative new designs in the Hamptons. The large home translates the barn style with wide-open spaces filled with light. Every room connects to the outdoors, and the transition between many of the rooms and outdoor spaces is seamless. The abundance of woods on the interior and exterior, and the finishes and warm colors, make it warm and inviting. Details such as the sliding barn-like doors with custom hardware and the post and beams enhance the magic. Best of all it is sustainable. Living in this special residence will transform the lives of the those fortunate to live there. One has to visit the home to experience its beauty and soul.

Ric Stott designed our LEED platinum house. He is extremely knowledgeable about green technology. In addition, he recommended numerous materials and design ideas that really added to the beauty and function of the house. I give him the highest recommendation.

The Dubin Family remains one of my all-time favorite clients. From a tragedy, the family rose and irked together to rebuild their home, hands on in every way from research to carpentry. I'm proud of all of them and so glad to have been there.

We hired Stott Architecture to design and supervise the construction of a 4 bedroom, 6 1/2 bath, approximately 4,500 sq. ft. home that we hoped would receive a LEED rating for its energy efficiency. Among other things, Ric's design included a geothermal heating and cooling system, solar panels, thin film photovoltaic cells, evacuated heating tubes, and a rainwater harvesting tank for irrigation. The home was delivered on schedule and on budget. Upon completion, it received a LEED Platinum certificate, which is the highest rating in energy efficiency. In sum, our energy costs are a fraction of what they were before we rebuilt, and our family loves our home.
