I did not expect to buy anything but am thrilled! Thank you Catherine Oxenham Kennedy! I am so glad I listened to her advise and can't believe what a great deal I got. Full on dining table from Theodore Alexander that is amazing with beautiful chairs with silk cushions that match my dining area perfectly and a ton of other things I'm going back for. She moved so fast it was amazing. She's tops! Tres tres talented!

Catherine Kennedy helped us and we could not believe what she created and the way she did it within our budget. On top of all she did it over the phone without ever meeting us. Extremely talented women. Our space was tough and she took the time to floor plan every inch and emailed us nearly 100 times with designs and furniture choices. She guided us and we are so excited to see the place once all the furniture arrives. She did it in break neck speed too! Can't recommend her enough! Wildly talented! We'll post photos.

Randolph Cooper is amazing! His vision has truly made my new house a home. I cannot describe how perfect my family room is. He has listened to my needs and has created a space my entire family loves spending time in. With 4 young boys, that is no easy task! Randolph is warm, intuitive, intelligent, and creative. There are not enough adjectives...Randolph Cooper is a gifted designer and a wonderful person. I look forward to working with him for many years to come!
Now to Southeastern Galleries. EVERY time I have walked into their beautiful space, all of the people have been wonderful. There have been times I have stopped by to "window shop" alone, and times I have stopped by with all of my boys wearing cleats after soccer and baseball games. On all occasions, I could not have asked for a better experience. Southeastern Galleries will loyally retain my business as I complete other spaces in my home.
Best Regards, Lori Turrentine

I stopped into the store to get ideas for redecorating my den. I met a wonderful designer named Randolph. He immediately realized I was just starting the process. I returned on multiple occasions, and each time I was treated very well. Randolph was very patient, since I changed my mind several times. He gave us expert advise on all aspects of decorating our room. After furnishing our den, I realized the furniture worked even better in my outdated living room. This now meant I needed to start over in my den, leading to additional consultations with Randolph. Thanks to Randolph's amazing knowledge and patience my husband and I now have two wonderful rooms.

My first project with SEG was when we were building a big house in 1995; we've loved everything we bought then and are still using many of those pieces. I've purchased other pieces and had other services in the interim but now we are in unique situation -- downsizing from 4400 sq ft to 2150 in a retirement community. So now we're about 2/3 done with my second "whole house project" with Southeastern Galleries. I'm using a different designer this time, and have made purchases without full scale design work in the interim, so I can speak to the professionalism and talent of multiple people at this fourth generation-family owned design center and furniture gallery. It's a large store and has the business history/reputation that I believe permits them to get such top notch products and service from their vendors and manufacturers so as to pass those values and gorgeous merchandise on to their clients. (Excellent quality but great sales, too!) There's no fee for design service and I have honestly never felt pressured -- I'll say "that's not in the budget" or "I'll think about it" or "what if we did this?" and each of the people I've worked with has been entirely responsive. The receptionist always greets visitors at the door but I think she knew me by name on my second visit. Sometimes I come and just wander for inspiration, but right now Trudie Cooper Krawcheck (part of the family whose life and living Southeastern Galleries is) and I/we mostly have scheduled meetings in the design center. She is always prepared, always gracious and boy, does she have great ideas! Of course she can't bat 1000 on every fabric need I have but she saves me endless hours looking thru sample books and there is NO substitute for the product knowledge as well as design savvy that she brings. And there's a real team to call on as well, her nephew Randolph found a fabric for us in just the color I was searching for! And I believe it was he that found the perfect end table for me a year or so ago — it was a "steal" because it was the last one available. I only wanted one, had an idea what I wanted and didn't want to spend a lot. He — and all the designers — are very familiar with their inventory and he was able to point me to the exactly right piece almost immediately. I intended it to be temporary in our temporary quarters but I like it so much I'm going to use in our new place. That's being built (45 flats in 3 buildings), essentially "commercial" construction but we are permitted to customize quite a bit. Trudie helped us with all of the "builder choices" such as cabinets and flooring before she ever sold us a stick of furniture. She has not only had great ideas that help me use possessions that we love (I thought for sure I was going to have to give up the antique wedding kimono we bought for "the big house") but met with and had great suggestions for the cabinet maker I engaged from another company and referred me to other vendors for products the builder insisted on buying (fireplace stone, hardware, etc.). She always tells me WHY she doesn't recommend one of my suggestions and I am gratefully persuaded (thinking, "wish I knew that!") nearly all the time. And she's very complimentary of even some our "old stuff" -- tho' she also has an understanding of ergonomics that quickly made my husband and I decide we didn't want to keep the sofa I had been planning to recover. We've picked a beauty and for very little more than the cost of re-doing the one that she gently demonstrated sits too low for us and for many of our friends these days. Although I have felt as if I had a partner throughout this process I have every confidence that Trudie could have done it by herself and it would have been praise worthy. We're investing in our MOST important surroundings for the next 20 years or so…I wouldn't go anywhere but Southeastern!

My husband went in to Southeastern Galleries just looking. We had no intention to buy furniture as we had just started building our house, but because of the courtesy shown by this young man, Randolph Cooper who still spent several hours working with him on the showroom floor my husband and I returned a year later and worked with Randolph in buying furniture for our entire house. Randolph and Southeaster Galleries went above and beyond to meet all of our expectations. It was a pleasure working with such a fine young man.

I had a wonderful experience working with Southeastern Galleries. Randolph Cooper was the designer I worked with and he was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable about his products and worked with me to ensure that everything was taken care of down to the last detail. I ended up refurnishing the entire house with Randolph's help and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would recommend this company and especially this designer to anyone and everyone.

I've bought several things from them over the years, the last being in 2013 when I was searching for first a bed, then a sofa. When I shopped for the bed, I went in by myself, driving up in our minivan. I was dressed for a day of shopping in Charleston, much like I did for my engineering job, sans pocket protector. The young salesman featured in their tv ads greeted me and proceeded to treat me as rudely as anyone in my entire life, ever. He asked how he could help me, I described the bed I had in mind and he assured me that they had nothing like that anywhere in any line. I said that I'd like to see what they had, so he walked through the store ahead of me much faster than I was able to keep up. I was trotted by every bed they had around the store, and when we arrived back at the front, he was standing there with the door open, not saying a word. That's right. He showed me the door. I bought a bed that day from Ethan Allen. The next time I shopped there, a year later, my husband and I drove up in our BMW, dressed for running errands in the rain, and had a wonderful experience. They had exactly the sofa we wanted and we bought it. The outcome of this is that I rarely shop for furniture there now because (1) I would be tempted to provide a little preemptive rudeness should that man offer to help me (2) it is now my belief that I would not be taken seriously as an occasional shopper on my own (3) the value and selection are as good at other stores and those stores regularly send me beautiful catalogs to pique my interest (4) many of the brands they carry can be purchased locally at other stores for less, including national chains, like Haverty's. My recommendation is to make it either your last stop after you've found what you think you want elsewhere or your first stop and glean ideas from some of their designers. I'd never buy from them without checking around town for the going price for that piece, so be sure to get either a catalog cut or take a photo of the piece before leaving. Finally, enter at the risk of your ego.

Southeastern Galleries has decorated 4 homes of mine over the years. The choice of furnishings are always beautiful, the decorating talent is outstanding, and the service is impeccable!!!

I have been purchasing rugs and furniture from Southeastern Galleries for 19 yrs. They have a beautiful showroom and I like that it's a family business. Catch their sales as their quality is good and that means high prices. They will come out to your home to see what pieces will work. They even moved my stuff around to make it look better. They also will keep your pieces there if you are building and they let me make payments!
