My wife and I initially met with Shawn Hood to discuss our ideas and "wish list" items for our new home. Within a few minutes, he pulled out some onion skin paper and began to draw our home from scratch on the table we were sitting at. In less that an hour, we both decided he was our man. He listened to our desires, counseled us where we needed it, and helped us realize our dream home really was possible. Over the next few weeks, he presented us with rough drawings showing how the rooms would be laid out. We made changes, added features, and continued the process of designing the home in a fun and stress free manner. It was so enjoyable to see our ideas come to life and with Shawn's guidance, the end product was exactly what we had hoped for. Not only did he design our new home, he offered landscape design ideas that were incorporated into the final exterior design of the home as well. Once the plans are complete, most architects say goodbye. Shawn continued to be involved in the construction of our home. He dropped by the job site on a regular basis to insure the builder was following the plans and incorporating all of the features we had decided on. Shawn was always available for a phone call. Whenever I had a concern, Shawn would answer my questions or meet me at the home site. Although his job duties were completed over a year ago, he continues to be available for questions and drops by to make sure my wife and I are handling the home building process with as little stress as possible. Shawn Hood was a "golden nugget" for us in our search for a qualified architect. I highly recommend him for not only his architectural services but for his professional and caring attitude to his clients that soon become good friends.

Shawn is communicative, smart, funny, creative and he designs nice houses. We found Shawn because we wanted a house built by Tim W. Long Custom Homes. Tim sent us to Shawn for the design.
