Scalero Custom Homes

Bob Scalero built our custom home for us. To begin with he said it would take 2.5 years to build. It took 4 - we finally told him we were moving in. I had designed our dream home with 4 kids in mind. Because it took so long to build, 2 of my children went off to college. I'm left with 2 empty bedrooms that were never used, and he still hasn't finished the punch list items. The house sat for months at a time between subs -he is a very poor project manager. He underbids his projects to get the jobs. The allowance he used for the tile, would barely cover the labor- and this is just 1 example. The plumbing fixture budget would get us the basic contractor's grade faucets from home depot, Same with the lighting budget. Then he charges an overage fee when you have to go outside the budget to purchase lights, faucets- etc. I purchased all the plumbing fixtures and lighting fixtures with my own funds, then I stored them in my garage and brought them to the site when needed. Because we were over budget- he charged me an overage fee.... In addition, he does not have loyal subs and we had to pick our own subs- He had no idea nor could he recommend the pool sub nor the tile sub for the house. I know I'm not alone and there are other clients who are having the same experiences. We have been forced to hire an attorney to try to get him to return to complete the punch list. There are several other builders in our area who are so much better. I wish I had not hired Scalero homes.

I feel that Scalero is an incredible builder. His attention to detail is amazing. He is easy to work with and builds a sold home!

Top notched builder! Would highly recommend not only for professional expertise but service as well. Extremely pleased with our home even after almost 10 years in it. Construction is precise! Bob and Bonnie are the best! Always available and very supportive. We thank God for them!
