About Us

Rutherford Design Services is a design-focused, residential design firm founded by Cody Rutherford. He designs homes that are site-specific and inspired by the scenic beauty of woods, lakes, farms, fields, towns, and cities that inhabit the rolling land of the Piedmont region in North Carolina. His studio is located in Norwood, North Carolina, a quiet town nestled in the southeastern corner of Stanly County, bounded by Lake Tillery and the fork of the Pee Dee and Rocky Rivers. While many of Rutherford's designs are located in the Piedmont region, he's currently designing homes throughout North Carolina, Northern South Carolina, and Southern Virginia.

Quick professional service. Accurate drawings and a very comprehensive design style. We utilized RDS for two drawing plans that includes a (new construction) pool house and a main house remodel. We began the new construction, phase 1 of the project, October 15th and Mr. Rutherford has been in contact with me or onsite as a followup to his service. We are very please with the service and can recommend RDS for most any residential project.

We use Cody for all of our home measures and sketches for listings. The renderings provided are very easily read and top notch. He goes above and beyond to schedule us in a timely manner and the work is returned promptly. He is very well priced for the quality of work he provides.
