Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with this homebuilder. We should have been clued in from the beginning by what seemed like an unrealistic promise of delivering a premium, high-end home within budget. Everyone we talked to about this builder and their guarantee seemed skeptical and, as is often the case, it was too good to be true. From the outset, they were poor communicators, lacking in proactive communication and updates. Given that we were building from out of state, we put a premium on frequent communication (by frequent, we asked for a weekly update by text, even if the update was "no update.") Instead, we had weeks of silence and unmet deadlines. We were given a totally unrealistic timeline that was never adhered to. Ultimately, the demise of the project was a misestimated budget. At one point, we asked for the "very top, high-end estimate" for the build to manage our expectations and they gave us a number, only to come back 6 weeks later with the project estimate coming in $160k more than they originally planned. We ended up canceling the project, which is when their true colors showed through. They used bully tactics and were passive-aggressive, condescending, and unprofessional in their communication. In short, this experience was an absolute nightmare. There are too many other great builders to settle for bad customer service!

My wife and I love working with Chatwin Homes. Rick, Susie, and their whole crew did an incredible job building us or custom dream home. They were all friendly, professional, and extremely helpful every step of the way, throughout the whole process. We could not be happier with our new home and are excited for the future as our family, friends, and neighbors come to visit and enjoy our home with us. Thank you Chatwin Homes!

Rick Chatwin served as the General Contractor for our new home. This was our first experience building a house and we had heard what a daunting task it could be. Rick and Susie were great to work with and made the whole experience a wonderful one. They helped educate us on each phase of the project and gave us excellent suggestions along the way. Our experience with Chatwin Homes (Rick, Susie, Rob and Uwe) was fantastic. From the first day we met at the lot to discuss the project through to the completion of our home, the team was attentive to our needs and concerns and always available for calls, texts and meetings. They excelled at handling the small details of our project and incorporated everything we wanted in the design and build as well as many nice extra features we didn't expect. Their subs were all excellent craftsmen. Some of the unexpected features they incorporated in the home included an open design basement without posts, nice wall texture and paint colors, beautiful granite, nice cabinet design, custom stamped driveway, low maintenance landscape, and even furnishings and decor Rick and Susie helped us select for the Parade of Homes. I can't say enough good things about Chatwin Homes and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality construction and a good experience. We love everything about our home. The completion date and cost came in right where we expected which was another bonus.

We purchased a Chatwin Home two years ago. The workmanship was better than any of the many homes we had seen up to that point in our search. We had no need to look further. It is more than just a place to live. It is an environment that we look forward to enter when we come home. The rooms are beyond functional. They offer pleasant, restful places to be in each day and share with our friends and family. Our personal needs are met to the fullest on the main level with even more finished living space in the basement. The granite, wood floors, carpet, shuttered windows, walls and painted trim create an atmosphere of classy comfort. The kitchen is a dream with top of the line appliances and over the top electronics throughout. The bathrooms are equipped with quality fixtures and fittings. We feel fortunate to own a Chatwin Home.

We have hired Chatwin to build our new home. They are extremely professional and easy to work with. They are very responsive to any questions/concerns we have had on our project.
