Working with SDX this year was a five experience. Open communication, professional work, and most of all care for the project. Every detail was checked and double checked as if it was his own home, and in the end the project came out beautifully. SDX recently completed the first phase of a major renovation to our backyard in Deal, NJ. The project included demolishing our existing concrete pool deck, coping and tile (which were 30+ years old); and installing new Techo-Bloc pavers, marble coping, and glass tile. The work done so far has been phenomenal. The craftsmanship has been excellent and the installations are beautiful. It has truly transformed our yard into something we never could have imagined. But the process of working with SDX, and its owner Rod Duque, is what has made this an especially enjoyable experience. Going into this project, we spent several months gathering proposals from about five different companies. With each one, it was very difficult setting up appointments, seeing materials, negotiating prices, and speaking to someone in charge. That was not the case with SDX. Rod made himself available to meet multiple times to go over the project before we signed a contract. He came equipped with samples, catalogues, options, and ideas. And when the time came, he was ready and eager to review and negotiate the proposal until we signed him on. After we signed him on, his deep involvement continued, always being on-site himself and pushing the project forward. Within hours after we signed, for instance, he already had a crew at our house to begin demolition. As with any large project like ours, issues inevitably arise that a homeowner could not have foreseen (e.g. electric, plumbing and sprinkler lines that need to be relocated; leveling challenges; terrible weather; etc.). Yet Rod, already having anticipated these challenge, took ownership of each one, handling them with confidence and a can-do attitude. He also welcomed and encouraged design modifications that would enhance our project beyond the original scope. All of this was refreshing, as other companies would have surely made a big fuss or tried to up-charge their client. Beyond that, Rod was a professional through and through. He maintained a clean and orderly worksite (his team cleaned every night before they left). He completed the project on time. He consulted with us daily on the project's progress and decisions that needed to made. He effectively oversaw the work of his team. He worked collaboratively with our other vendors (e.g. pool equipment company and electrician). And he cared deeply about the project's final outcome. He was passionate about making a beautiful, long-lasting installation. We look forward to working with Rod on the next phase of our project- redoing our pool plaster and installing landscape lights. We had a great experience with Rod Duque helping us for a large remodeling project of our backyard pool area and creation of a cabana with outdoor kitchen. Rod listened to our needs and went above and beyond our expectations. He has a very reliable and capable crew, but he is not afraid of “rolling his sleeves up” when needed. In fact, he loves his job and enjoys creating beautiful final products. Rod had to face multiple pandemic-related hurdles, as the shipment of some of the materials was delayed due to the pandemic, but was always able to find good solutions to overcome the challenges. Rod is creative, detail-oriented and always strives for a good balance between quality and price. We are extremely satisfied with the work that SDX Co Design did for us and will definitely consider them for other future projects.

Rod / SDX did three projects for me. The first one was installation of raised granite pavers on pedestals on a 1350 SF flat roof / deck. Not a standard project, other contractors I spoke with have didn't know how to do it and didn't want to learn something new. Rod and I discussed the approach, I pointed him to a few European websites describing the process, and he executed the project very well. It required thinking and finesse - the deck was not exactly rectangular, the pavers were not all the same thickness. He overcame all these difficulties. I especially appreciated his willingness to learn, try new things, and do quality work . Not an easy job either - they had to lift 10 tons of granite 15 feet to the roof. The second project was to design and build stone stairs to my patio, put down granite steps and tile, and stucco the sides. He did all the calculations for the steps, excavation, masonry and stucco work. I asked him to move the dirt from the excavation to another corner of my property, some 200 feet away. He did it and didn't charge me extra. It was a fair amount of dirt About a year later, I asked him to pave my front yard with travertine pavers. Significant project, and again something that required good planning, perfect pitch for drainage, and careful work - travertine is fragile and cannot be set with a comacting machine, needs manual work. Very happy with the results, looks beautiful and perfectly flat.

We were looking to do several major projects around the house. We went out for bids and ran across Rod. Not only did he give us the best price but many options on material and design. In all we did 5 major projects. Pool decking and walls. Since my property is picked we have large steps from the back of the house to the pool. In addition a large patio with surrounding walls. Also, the pavers in the front of the house between my driveway, porch which he also redid and pavers from the porch to the street. Lastly he is redoing all the tiles in my pool. As someone mentioned when you do so many projects there are many challenges. But Rob is a professional who takes pride in his work and found solutions and seamless designs. I can’t say enough about the quality and the workmanship. I am planning to redo the front of the house which he will do in 2021. My family and neighbors are in awe of the work. I can’t say enough about how pleased we are with the results.

Rod Duque from SDC Co. just completed a patio paver for my house and did an amazing job. Rod and his crew were able to find a quick solution for every obstacle encountered during the job. Would highly recommend Rod and will certainly use him again in the future!

Hi, Rod Duque from SDX Co. just finished a beautiful walkway, patio & kitchen base in our yard. In addition , he had to move a gutter drain, connect to another and move it across the yard. Rod did an excellent job. He showed up everyday., got the job done. He is professional, helpful, & knowledgeable. We will very happily hire him for future projects. Video is job in progress.

We built a new house last year and Rod came in this Summer to do our backyard paver patio, front walkway and veneer on the house. We also added more work as the project moved along with another side walkway going to fence and rock gardens. Rod was awesome to work with and gave us a great price to complete all the projects we had on our goal. We plan to have him come back later to do some additional plans to the house. He had no issues working with us on slight changes and helped us pick out the best quality pavers and veneer. We are very proud of the finished projects. Thank you Rod.

We replaced an existing patio of approximately 350 sf. Rod with SDX was excellent to do business with. He was very descriptive and clear on the scope of work and completed the project on time. The patio looks fantastic and was completed within our budget. I would highly recommend SDX CO

Rod just finished up our entire front landscaping, complete with a new front walkway and stone wall. He couldn’t be more pleasant to work and did an amazing job. We couldn’t be happier with the end result and highly recommend him.
