We used Rosen Kelly Conway for a major renovation of our 1929 Tudor and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. This is the second home that I have remodeled with Tom Conway and the other professionals at RKCAD. After a house fire destroyed most of my historic farm house, I knew Tom Conway would be the perfect talent to rebuild my 1700's bankhouse. Tom and the other architects went to great lengths to preserve the character of the original structure, consider the beauty of the property and work within the confines of my insurance budget. We were looking to renovate and build an addition to an old Victorian home. Our goal was to respect its character while integrating a more modern interior space. The challenge was a narrow lot with nice deep backyard that we wanted to emphasize throughout the house. RKCAD delivered on those goals and created a modern luminous open interior space, while respecting the historical Victorian exterior appearance of the house. We are very pleased with the outcome and are enjoying the house every day.

RKC has designed four major projects for me. Two renovations at my former house, an 1880 Victorian, and two projects at my current 1912 stone colonial. Tom Conway is the partner in charge of our work. RKC has the complete package, including in-depth understanding of architectural history and preservation, fresh creative ideas, attention to a client's needs, and a solid grasp of the practical side of contracting / budgeting a project. Obviously since I have returned to them several times, I am a big fan.

Tom Conway of Rosen Kelly Conway, designed a renovation for our 20's era beach cottage. The house is quite small, but he was able to work within the existing footprint to give us a new master bedroom and bath, more functional kitchen and improved flow through the house as well as a better connection to our backyard. All of the changes are highly functional and respectful of the original structure.

We have used Dave Rosen of Rosen Kelly Conway for three renovation projects on two homes over the years. The most recent project involved swapping the location of our dining room and kitchen so that the kitchen is now open to our family room, expanding the footprint of the house to accommodate a new breakfast room off the kitchen, and enlarging our finished basement by digging out under the existing family room. We love the end result! Dave and his team took us through the whole process from design to build in a creative, thoughtful and patient way. They proposed different design options to refine the scale of the project, got preliminary bids from several contractors so we understood the potential costs, prepared the construction plans and met with us several times to refine the myriad details on them, recommended contractors that they have had good experience with, handled the bidding process, and provided construction oversight. As inevitable changes-- structural surprises in our old house and added wish list items -- came up during construction, they worked quickly and seamlessly with the builder to provide solutions and architectural drawings to resolve them. They are consummate professionals. Working with Rosen Kelly Conway has made our construction experience fun and successful, and that says alot!
