About Us

Partners Vulfie Munson and J. Paloma Glass co-founded Olde World Artisans in 1988. With a combined experience of over 35 years in the remodeling and home improvement industry, they have developed a reputation of integrity and client satisfaction. Our mission has always been to provide the best service possible by listening to our clients needs, and to always learn and improve ourselves on a constant basis. Projects we have had over the years have ranged from commercial projects to residential homes, many times taking us to cities other than our home base in San Diego, CA. Starting as a professional painting contractor in 1980, Vulfie Munson has become an accomplished sculptor and has exhibited his lost wax bronze sculptures in art shows and galleries. Then in 1988 Vulfie partnered up with Paloma who was working as a faux finishing artist at that time. Paloma majored in the interior design and art field and worked as an interior designer before going into faux finishes. Paloma has appeared as a regular guest on “American Home Repair”, a nationally syndicated home improvement program. Together they have worked on numerous remodels and share an avid enthusiasm for turning houses into homes.

Paloma and Vulfie did an absolutely fantastic job with refinishing my 1989 kitchen cubbords. The wood was in perfect condition however dated with an oak finish. First and foremost they were extremely professional and attentive to my wants and need on all levels from the desired finish down to complete, utmost consideration of my time and inconvenience. I was aware of the project cost, the process, and what to expect on a week by week, daily basis. The painting process takes a few weeks however it was well worth the wait. I kept my quality cabinets and the appearance is gorgeous at probably 1/4th of the repkacement cost. I can't say enough great things about the experience and with how satisfied I am with the final product. I'm extremely pleased with the outcome!

I have been working with Paloma and Vulfie for a number of years on both my homes and my mom’s home. I especially like the use of the right color combinations in my new home along with a perfect application. They seem to have a “I’m not happy unless the customer is happy” approach to their business. Highly recommended.

An incredible team !!! Used them for the first time 18 years ago for a extensive European style home remodel and as recent as this year for a modern beach house project. A few years ago, their skill was extraordinary as part of an extensive church remodel project. Every job is done in the most professional, artistic and precise manner. They are by far the best in the business. I would recommend them hands done for any project large or small.

I have the highest recommendations for Paloma and Vulfie of Old World Artisans. I have used them for the last 10 years for numerous projects in our home and I have never been disappointed. They are innovative and experienced and always bring a unique quality of inspiration to any project. There is a certain excitement you feel with their finished work. I have never been more pleased !

I have used Olde World Artisans several times and would highly recommend them. They are very talented and work with you to get the results you want. You get a price and time frame. When they leave everything is clean and looks beautiful. I have very lovely wall treatments. I don't know of any other company that can do the variety of art work that they can..

Olde World Artisans has done many projects in my home. They faux painted the kitchen/family room and painted a Venetian plaster-like faux finish on several bathroom walls and ceilings. They transformed an existing floor-to-ceiling buffet in the dining room and existing shelves and cabinets in the office, which saved the purchase of new cabinets or furniture. The white mantle in the family room and the white stair railing were faux painted to look like a dark wood. Several dressers were changed from a blonde color to a dark wood finish. I love the subtle stripes in the entry, the palm shadows above the guest bed, and the painted "rug" on an upstairs deck. Olde World Artisans are problem solvers! They arrive and finish on time, and are priced fairly. You will not be disappointed with the outcome of your projects with these artists!

I first saw Paloma's work in a friend's home, and referred her to my client, where she literally saved the day for us. For my own home she painted my old dining room chairs to exactly match the wood of my dining table, and gave an antique chair a new life. Paloma is a very talented artist with an especially good eye for color. I have lots of future projects in mind for her.

Immense Talent Combined With The Utmost Professionalism ! Paloma Glass and Vulfie Munson have the uncanny knack of breathing life into any project that is brought to them. They go about their craft in an old world manner that is all but extinct today. I have commissioned them to do a number of projects for me and always marvel at how they manage to produce just what it is I asked of them. The bottomless bag of tricks and techniques they employ to achieve their desired result is a marvel to behold. Weather it be all the hallways and doors to a one hundred year old historic building that you want faux finished, a mural for your daughter's bedroom wall or the repair of your grandmas antique porcelain vase; Olde World Artisans have no peer.
