Anne worked with us to remodel our bathroom. She made the process so easy and the outcome was wonderful! She was accommodating, meeting with my husband and myself throughout the process and helping us make choices. If she hadn't worked with us, it would have been much more challenging! Having the design plans made the work for the contractors so much easier, too. I would highly recommend Anne and if we do more work in the future, we will be reaching out to her!

Anne Norton did an absolutely fantastic job with our bathroom remodel; my wife and I could not be more pleased. She started by listening to our ideas of what we wanted in our new bathroom, and then used her gifts as a designer to refine our ideas, offer suggestions and choices, and in the end, make our new bathroom better than we ever could have imagined. Remodeling is usually a very stressful endeavor, but we were amazed at how Anne made the process seamless and stress free. The plans she drew up proved to be invaluable; every time a contractor had a question, I would refer them back to her plans. She was also available throughout the project to answer any questions we might have, and she communicated with the contractor to keep our project coming in on budget and on time. Our new bathroom is a testament to Anne's unique gifts as a designer. We could not be more pleased with her work.

Anne helped us design and furnish our new home (a classic 1910 Leola Hall in The Elmwood section of Berkeley) in 2020. We could not have been happier with her work. Anne has a terrific design sense and worked efficiently and creatively to bring our ideas to reality. She was also a one stop shop for the process, which we really appreciated. Anne handled the CAD end of the design, drafted the plans, communicated with the contractor and structural engineer, and placed the furniture orders. The end product feels like something out of architectural digest. All the changes and build outs (new kitchen with open design, bench and bookshelves in the living room) and a redesigned master bedroom with new bathroom) feel utterly authentic and true to the original home—you wouldn’t know they were not there 110 years ago. Anne pays attention to detail, communicates well, and is just an all around lovely person to deal with. Highly recommend her!

Honestly, I cannot say enough great things regarding AND Interior Design Studio. I was connected with AND via a close friend who recommended the studio. AND, although based on the west coast, agreed to redesign the interior of my New York City apartment. I had used Anne Norton Designs to help me with a small redecorating project several years earlier, so when we were contemplating a major kitchen redesign - the first since the house had been built in 1990 - I wanted to consult with Anne. Anne helped us streamline the process, always providing just enough guidance and choices that I never felt overwhelmed. We were able to complete the project in just over three months. Both my husband and I cook and use the kitchen equally. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Anne's assistance made it possible for us to attain our "Dream Kitchen" with a minimum of angst.

My husband and I could never agree on any design issues and therefore our master bath remodeling project went nowhere fast. Hiring Anne changed all that. Recognizing that we had no clue on how to do a great remodel, which we would always love, we hired Anne. Anne worked with us to determine the things we liked and incorporated that information into her designs She was really great about selecting things for the project and/or helping to guide us in the right direction. Now, every time I walk into my master bath I think how much I love it. It turned out even better than I had ever imagined it could be. Because Anne did such a great job with our bathroom remodel, we hired her for more remodeling assistance. Anne helped pick out paint colors for both the inside and outside of our home, helped to remodel our master bedroom and she is now working on helping to redesign our living areas, powder room and kitchen. Anne has been amazing in her ability to get my husband and I to agree on design concepts which is no small feat. During the whole remodeling process, Anne has explained her thought process which in turn has helped my husband and I to feel more comfortable with making good design decisions in the future. Anne is very easy going, professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her.

My husband and I are so happy we worked with Anne to design our bathroom remodel. I knew from our first phone call that it was a good match. Anne has a great sense of humor, is a good listener and gives helpful recommendations while acknowledging our style and preferences. Anne Norton and I have been working together for years (in fact, she was my first interior design client). We've probably shot seven or eight projects together now, and I count myself very fortunate to have her both as a client and a friend. As I write this, she and I most recently completed two new shoots at her recently completed projects in San Francisco and Berkeley, CA. The homes are quite different and really showcase Anne's ability to be adaptable, and create brilliant design for clients with very different tastes and different styles of homes. I've seen her do traditional American, contemporary with a hint of Japanese, urban contemporary, craftsman, and more. I don't know how she keeps on top of all of this, but she manages to find pieces of furniture I've never seen before, and I see a LOT of homes. If a client wants an entirely bespoke interior, Anne knows the sources and the craftspeople to get the job done beautifully. One of her current clients has a home full of the most stunning solid wood furniture, all custom, and all spec'd by Anne. She works exceptionally well, too, working existing pieces of furniture or artwork into a redesign. I can honestly say, too, that she's not recycling ideas between different clients' homes. Each one is entirely unique. It's not like she finds one chair or coffee table and puts it in every home. No... every job is totally custom, and she takes a great deal of time and effort choosing every detail for just that home, for that one client. I would be proud to recommend Anne to anyone. She's one of the best of the best in her business, and is a total pleasure to work with, too.

Anne helped us design our newly renovated Victorian. It was no easy task, with me and my husband having differing opinions on design. First of all, the kitchen she designed was phenomenal -- don't try to do this yourself. It's too expensive to screw it up. She's awesome with bathrooms too. Her subs are amazing and they work together seamlessly. Finally, expect to put some real hours looking at fabrics. You'll be glad you did. She'll take you to the SF Design Center if your taste is as particular as ours is. It's a wonderland!! One more note -- she respected our budget, something not everyone does. These renovations can be VERY expensive, so she'll help you not get carried away.

Anne was very professional and knew what to do every step of the way in regards to redoing my living rm. She knew immediately (first time I met her) what kind of look I wanted for lvg. room after telling her a bit about myself. We stayed pretty much on budget and everything fell into place as expected. She really listens and is a compassionate women. i highly recommend her for any project you might be considering, small or large.

Anne worked with me on several projects, including a redesign of our basement, new furniture for our living room, and built ins for our master bedroom. For each job, she displayed excellent taste, creative ideas, and budget-minded solutions. She is professional and a pleasure to work with. Anne helped us with our kitchen last year and I cannot say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with her and about how talented she is as a designer. First of all, her innate talent is there in the way she presents herself in a professional and beautiful presence. She is attuned to respecting the taste of her clients and was able to take my not-fully-formed ideas and open up possibilities that delighted me and that I could never have imagined on my own. At one point, a paint color needed adjustment and she miraculously appeared early in the morning so that the work could proceed apace. We moved into a new/older home and I really needed help in trying to combine the furnishings/decor from my previous home with my new one. She did an amazing job adding just a few pieces here and there to bring every room together - gorgeous! Her personality is just an added bonus. 5 stars is not enough... 10!

Anne has been consistently one of my best clients for a long while now, and I find working with her to be effortless. She knows what she wants, always has a good vision for each project, and frankly she has a good eye.

After twenty years in our home, raising and launching children, it was time to redecorate. While virtually the whole house needed a facelift, we knew we'd have to do it in stages. Anne worked with what we had to maximize what we could achieve in this first phase (two bedrooms, an office, and a hallway), while thinking ahead to what we're planning to do later, so that the house would look "all-of-a-piece" in the end. We really connected with Anne from our first meeting. She's a great listener, has a terrific warm personality, and exquisite taste. She came up with creative solutions we'd never have thought of, and didn't overwhelm us with too many choices. Anne brought with her a coterie of carpenters, painters, and suppliers with whom she has relationships. And she really acted like a general contractor, coordinating all the professionals so that the job moved quickly and efficiently. She was even our advocate when things weren't right, negotiating with the service providers and suppliers until we were satisfied. We adore our new rooms, and it is joy to live here now. Our bedroom is a peaceful haven that brings the outdoors in. Anne designed a fabulous window seat for the bay window, complete with bookshelf beneath, and chose wonderful fabrics for the window treatments, cushion, and pillows. She had two beloved chairs recovered and refinished, and helped us choose a stunning bedroom set. Our boys' room is now an inviting guest room that still retains its "family" roots, with an heirloom quilt as the focal point, as well as the original pine furniture. Our office is more comfortable and functional than ever. We couldn't recommend Anne more highly, and will be using her again when it's time to start the kitchen/laundry room/powder room/dining room project.

Anne did an excellent job. I was not interested in putting in a lot of time and energy and she did all of the work just giving me 2-3 choices for furniture, fixtures, wall coverings, curtains, paint, fabrics. It was an extensive redecoration - 13 chairs recovered, all living areas painted, some wall paper, several new lighting fixtures, new side tables, new sofa for living room, new sofa sleeper, desk and chair, bench for bedroom, 2 floors refinished, new carpet and rugs, new kitchen chairs, new window coverings. She coordinated much of it while we were away for 3 weeks and when everything was finished, she hung the artwork. It is an amazing transformation. As several visitors have said, it is both elegant and comfortable. She adapted her plans to accommodate our idiosyncrasies. Her work is outstanding. All the furniture, carpet and contracted work seemed expensive to me. Since I did almost no comparative shopping for anything and prices were all inclusive (tax and delivery), I really don't know. However, her hourly rate was quite reasonable and her expertise and advice worth every penny.

Anne Dingwall-Norton of AND Designs is a delight to work with. After being in our home and not having purchased new furniture for more than 22 years, our family room furnishings were in need of updating. Anne was quickly able to grasp our style and taste preferences. She helped us design a space that is super comfortable for my husband & myself, as well as for when we are entertaining guests, and put it all together so that it looks great. AND Designs managed to stay within our budget and we didn't have to compromise on quality. Anne escorted us through the design center and knew just where to take us to find several unique pieces that were perfectly in tune with our personal taste to complete the total makeover of our family room. I will definitely call on her again for her expertise when I begin my next home improvement design project.

Anne worked with us on two projects. First she helped us decorate our living room and family room and design a small bathroom remodel. She channeled us perfectly, and understood exactly what look and function we were trying to accomplish. She designed three gorgeous pieces (including a bookshelf inspired by Japanese step tansu and a large corner unit for bookshelves and media) and helped choose furniture that complemented the style and functioned well for our use(s). The results were stunning and lived well; even now, eight years later, the rooms look fabulous. After such a success the first time, we hired Anne to design our kitchen remodel. Again she did a wonderful job, both with the design and working with the contractor. We even went to Europe for two weeks while the project was being done, secure that Anne's good judgment and people skills would keep the work on track. We were not disappointed; the design is beautiful and functional. Anne is the best: a great designer and a great person.

We have worked with Anne for several years and have been extremely pleased with the results. She has helped us with a number of areas in our house including two bathrooms and our living, dining and family rooms. AND Interior Design Studio did a spectacular job, far expecting my expectations, and did it in a very reasonable cost manner. The end result is a place that I love living in and the unit, quite frankly, makes me not want to leave. Anne's strength is that she can understand what you want and work with you to get it done. My modern bachelor-pad concept is not something that is reflected in Anne's portfolio, but she was able to understand what my vision was and execute it with her wealth of knowledge as a designer. I highly recommend Anne if you are thinking of re-doing your place - since you are going to spend a lot of time living there, it is important to choose an excellent designer to do it right.
