I can't rate Michael and Northstar building highly enough. Michael oversaw the gut renovation of our house in the hudson valley and he made the entire experience completely seamless. He gave the most thorough and comprehensive quote of any contractor; and everything was accounted for. He also finished on time and possibly even early - and kept in close touch about absolutely everything. His crew was wonderful and Michael is a pleasure to work with. The house looks wonderful and everything is perfect - we are thrilled. We completely trust him and will be using him for further work on our property. You should absolutely contract Northstar - they are wonderful!

The Northstar team just completed a full renovation of our attic space in a home we just purchased in Sharon. We can’t say enough about Michael’s professionalism, friendly attitude, work ethic, and the quality of the work he and his team did for us. They came in on time and on budget which is an obvious plus. And turned a dark, cold, damp attic into a sunny, cozy, family room that we know will bring us lots of use and joy. We’d hire Northstar again in a heartbeat.

I hired Michael Ruprecht, the principal at Northstar Building, LLC to do excavation, footings and a garage concrete floor, all of which were done very well. Michael also put in a floating dock and small fixed walkway by the lake. Michael clearly has experience in construction and building. I also then retained Michael to have a stone wall rebuilt. Michael also coordinated with other trades to assist in having sheet rocking and paving work done. Michael always reviewed the work before being done, and made suggestions to the original plans which were very helpful. I plan on continuing to use Michael and his company and highly recommend him.

Best home builder I've ever worked with. Attentive and meticulous. We brought them on to help us do our interior basement renovation. Gutted the place down to the cement. Northstar's team brought it all back to life from the studs to the final paint jobs. Excellent craftsmanship, really really high quality. I can't wait to get them back over to build out some of the other rooms. Highly recommended.

We originally hired Michael to do a 3 car garage for us and were so impressed with his workmanship and level of professionalism that the one job quickly turned into more. After working with different contractors over the years, Michael definitely raises the bar. He follows through on everything he says and is clear about his process and stays on budget. There are no surprises. He arrives on time and gets the job done without any shortcuts. His work is beautiful and we highly recommend North Star for any home projects big or small. Our only regret is that we did not find him sooner.

It was very important to us that the store reflected our design sensibility and Mike was able to interpret that perfectly - guiding us in our decision making and working within our budget. Michael Ruprecht of Northstar Building installed two ipe decks with mahogany and stainless steel cable railings at the rear of our home. Michael and his crew were excellent. They were on schedule and stayed with the job through completion. Michael’s experience was extremely important in helping us make good design choices for our project. The decks are solid and they look fantastic.

Michael Ruprecht, owner of Northstar, put a complicated extension onto our 1935 Cape. He is intelligent, resourceful, imaginative and very hard working. All the workmanship is first class, he was able to work extremely well within the limits of our site, and was always cheerful, polite and willing. Even when we changed our minds over things! We would have no hesitation in recommending him for building projects of all kinds - we still employ him for minor - and no to minor - work on our house and shall continue to do so.

Michael & Northstar building are excellent! They refinished our basement, did several cabinetry/shelving works among other items. Upfront, professional, trustworthy, fantastic work and a pleasure to work with. Michael in particular was a great communicator which is extremely important with any house construction! We would 100% recommend Michael Ruprecht & the Northstart Building Team. He came highly recommended to us by our most trusted and experienced neighbors when we first moved to the area. He and his team have custom built, installed, painted, etc extensive cabinetry and shelving systems in our mudroom and playroom/entertainment room that came out both beautifully, and exactly as we had wanted them to. Additionally, they have built and installed utility shelving in our basement and even an adjustable and movable stage for our children to perform on! There is nothing he cant do! NorthStar handled 2 jobs for us: storm damage repair in our finished basement and then a main bathroom remodel. We were highly pleased with both results. Michael (& his team) was pleasant, worked neatly, showed up on schedule, and completed the work in the expected timeframe. Michael was helpful in suggesting ideas & finishes, recommending suppliers, but always respectful of our wishes. The work was very well done, two and a half years later and I still smile every time I enter our bathroom. Wish I had pictures for you but I'm not so technically savvy.

Significant construction following tree falling on our house. Rebuilding of porch and residing of house. Painting of all exterior house trim. Various construction projects inside and out. Mike and his crew were at our house for several weeks. We even had him there for two weeks while we were on vacation. They are fabulous! Trustworthy, competent, a real find!!! They do excellent work for fair prices. They stand by their work. I would and will hire him again when I have any construction work. They are very nice people to work with.
