Oregon Trail Remodeling

I'm giving Oregon Trail/ AJ Martino a 5-star review because they earned it. Read further and you'll see why. Looking for and deciding on a contractor can be scary and stressful. You hear the horror stories and the reputation of the industry. We were part of that group and we were hesitant to use any contractors. We actually started this project off using independent referrals. Our project was a total gut. We were going to take everything down to the studs. We had met with a handful of contractors and Oregon Trail was the one we liked the most. They were the most down to earth and based on first impressions they seemed to honestly believe in the quality of work and bringing to life the image of what the homeowners want. But of course....us being naive we felt we could do this without a contractor. We were wrong. The first independent guy (who was a licensed contractor and specialized in framing) we hired did the demo and attempted to do the framing and it went horribly wrong. He was short cutting everywhere possible. An example...he was cutting wood from other parts of the house to use for framing in other parts of the house. I'm not joking. An absolute nightmare. We parted ways. At that point we knew we had to do this right. But we were still apprehensive about who to use though. I have friends in the industry and they would always tell me...you will hate your contractor by the end of the project. So this is what was stuck in my head. But we knew we had to hire one. My wife and I thought long and hard about it and we decided to go with our original gut feeling and we decided to go with Oregon Trail. We made the right decision. Jeremy Parsons (one of the partners) welcomed us into his home to look at his concrete floors and skylights since we were looking to do the same at our home. How many contractors would do that? AJ Martino was our project manager and I have to give him kudos for his patience, expertise, perseverance and his advocacy for his customers. Our project had several bumps in it, including an HVAC disagreement with our HOA that held the project up for over 3 months. But A.J didn't walk off the project. He stood by us until the situation was resolved and until the completion of the project. My wife will tell you that I'm a bit on the OCD side and I look at every corner and I want perfection. A.J worked with us and was extremely patient and made sure everything was handled to our level of satisfaction. He advocated for us and we did feel like he was on our side. I have included the before and after pics to show you the quality of work. I hope this review is helpful.

We recently completed a downstairs remodel with Oregon Trail. It involved structural work, (relocating load bearing and shear walls), a completely new kitchen, bathroom, and the conversion of a garage space into a bedroom and laundry room. We worked with Michael, and the experience was excellent. He provided our initial quote, and was with us throughout the 12 weeks, Everything was done as quoted. The only price changes were changes to the project made by us, and even then, he worked to complete the work within his original budget, or at minimal cost to us. On a design note, Michael has a fantastic eye for detail, and his suggestions really took our project from good to great. As an example, he noticed that our renovated shower downstairs was going to be a little small, so worked with the plumber to expand the width, making it a much more comfortable space to be in. He also worked with us to vault the ceiling in the kitchen, something that wasn't specifically on the original plans, but with Michael's help, we managed to achieve it with a call to the architect and some changes to the framing. It is this kind of honest, caring, and dedicated work that made him such a pleasure to work with. In addition, everybody who came to our home was professional and courteous. We couldn't be happier with the results, and would definitely work with Oregon Trail in the future.

My wife and I recently completed a renovation project on both the interior and exterior of our home. We choose Oregon Trail Remodeling largely due to a recommendation from friends of ours who were just completing a similarly large remodel. The scope of the renovation was quite large and included all three bathrooms with an upgraded electrical scheme, custom tile, new cabinetry, plumbing and lighting fixtures… a garage storage space conversion to a new office… enlarging a bedroom by removing faux walls… replacing non-functioning windows in two rooms for functioning ones… family room upgrades with custom cabinetry for the entertainment center and tile work on the fireplace … a complete renovation of the laundry room… upgrades to our kitchen with new granite, plumbing fixtures and significant improvements to the lighting scheme… new flooring, crown molding and base-boards throughout the house… some structural and stucco work on the exterior… a new epoxy floor for the garage and painting the entire interior and exterior of our home. We could not be more pleased! Mike and his team (Gerry, Chris, Angel, Delsey and more) did a fantastic job. Though we did encounter a few issues with some aspects of the renovation and project timeline, Mike, ALWAYS made things right. We cannot thank Mike and his team enough for the wonderful craftsmanship, attention to detail and integrity with which they operated. We recommend Oregon Trail without hesitation.

Marc and his team were absolutely amazing! When I called Oregon Trail Remodeling, it was a last minute cry for help to get my business moved in 30 days. The job was quite large, for it was a complete demo and rebuild with no time to spare. Everyone who worked on the job was clean, respectful, and very good at their trade. Honestly, once they took over the job, my stress was gone. Marc covered every small detail. The end result was more than I expected. They went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect! I will call them again and again for all my remodeling needs.

We had a slab leak in our home and with the help of Marc we were able make sure that all the damages were repaired in a very timely fashion (2 weeks) and our home came out better than it was before. Marc was able to be present with the adjuster and point out damage that I would not have recognized. Our home required new door casings, flooring, baseboards, paint and kitchen cabinets. Throughout the project Marc also kept us well informed. A pleasure to work with.
