McMurray builders just finished a big project at my house and I couldn’t be happier. Tom McMurray is a pleasure to work with and I count on his knowledge and years of experience to help me obtain the best possible outcome for any project he works on for me. His crew is professional, polite, and friendly. They do top notch work and always leave the job site cleaner than they found it. If any problems or delays occur Tom let’s me know early on and keeps me up to date on how things are progressing. Tom has done several projects for me over the years and I have recommended him to my friends on several occasions and will continue to do so.

We used this contractor for a basement remodel and made the mistake of paying in full before the work was 100% complete. They indicated they would come back and finish the baseboard molding installation after the flooring was installed and never did. At first, Tom McMurray indicated that his contractor quit and he would send someone else out to finish the job. Now - months later - he's just refusing to finish the job.

I have used McMurray Builders for a number of small jobs and one large exterior renovation project (new sidings, trim, gutters, windows). I can’t say enough good things about them. Tom McMurray, the owner, has a special combination of expertise having years of hands-on-experience plus a degree in architecture from VA Tech. He spent time showing me various products, explaining how everything works, and researching various options for me. He was very responsive to answering my questions and addressing my concerns throughout the project. Tom has put together a terrific team of tradesmen. All were easy to interact with, very proficient, and very professional and polite. Raul, who coordinated the activities of the tradesmen, was a pleasure to work with. He kept me up-to-date with schedules, and was very thorough with the details, making sure nothing fell through the cracks. I spent a lot of time researching companies for my big project and am so glad I found McMurray Builders.

Thanks so much for doing such an excellent job with our addition and kitchen remodel. Along with your sound construction plans and practices, we so appreciated your eye for what is aesthetically pleasing. You figured out a way to construct a cathedral ceiling on the addition without sacrificing the egress requirements for the upstairs bedroom windows. When removing the kitchen cabinet soffit revealed a drainage pipe, you and your crew figured out how to redirect the pipe so it would remain hidden and there would be minimal intrusion in our new cabinetry. Strategic creativity seemed to be the norm when approaching the project and its uncertainties. Your crew was always very polite and professional, and I felt we had a great rapport. They straightened up at the end of the day and kept me informed of progress and what was next. Thanks for having such a keen eye for details and for taking the time to explain things. We absolutely love our new space and feel like we have a whole new house. Our next vacation is going to be a “stay-cation” so we can enjoy it all! McMurray Builders is a company made up of prompt, professional employees. From designing the kitchen, with Annie, to meeting daily with the project manager every question/concern was handled successfully. The painters were professional and detailed oriented. Daily pick up of mess and vacuuming of areas where saws were used was much appreciated. The kitchen renovation was made last spring and the quality workmanship has endured well. I have referred McMurray Builders to relatives and friends without hesitation.
