Essex House Interiors

I hired Essex House Interiors to help design the large brand new house I was having built. My first conversation I had was about the kitchen. I wanted a very nice and upscale kitchen to go with the upscale house I was building. My kitchen and bathroom cabinets turned out to be of very very poor quality. I could have gotten much better and cheaper cabinets at a big box store. I am spending tens of thousands of dollars to replace them. I have had many cabinet companies come see them and give me quotes for new ones. They ALL were appalled at the quality of my cabinets. They were surprised at that Essex House Interiors had sold me such poor cabinets. I will say that the rest of the house is nice but the cabinets in the kitchen and the two big bathrooms have to be trashed because they are so bad. The kitchen and bathrooms are what sell a house. No one would buy my house if I left these cabinets in place. And the heart of the home is the kitchen. With an awful kitchen, it really doesn't make much difference what the rest of the house looks like IMO. I regret ever hiring this company. My lazy susan is something from a cheap big box store. My display cabinet, which is supposed to be very nice and pretty, has windows that are not the same size. Originally the support braces that you see in the cabinet interior picture were visible in the display cabinet too. The picture inside the cabinet still looks like that with the exposed braces. I was told this was normal and the doors would always be closed anyway so no one would ever see them anyway. What a horrible thing for a designer to say to anyone. "Just don't worry about it because you will rarely ever see it." Who uses that as an excuse when designing an upscale kitchen? I have lived in many houses in my life and I have had nice kitchens and some not so nice kitchens. This kitchen is so much worse than any other kitchen I have ever seen in my life. I don't recommend this company.

Roxanne has been wonderful to work with! What has impressed me the most is her communication skills. She always got back to me very quickly on a question or concern. Roxanne is also very personable and understands how to work in someone's budget. We have loved the work she has done in our home and her great recommendations on style. We will continue to use her on future projects.

Love working with Roxanne! She was great helping me pick colors for my family room and kitchen. She also designed a beautiful shower curtain and helped me pick bathroom fixtures. She was always timely on her visits and call backs. Thank you Roxanne!
