I was looking for someone to help decorate my living and dining room and checked the find pros on Houzz. com website. It led me to Elizabeth Holmes Design home page. I immediately liked her photos and decided to give her a call. Our first meeting was wonderful. We discussed the scope of work to be performed as well as my budget. This included buying living room furniture - couch, area rug, fireplace wall tile and artwork. Also dining room fixture, area rug and artwork for wall. For my master bedroom, Elizabeth brought fabric samples to make up a duvet cover and pillow shams. Working with Ms. Holmes was so helpful to me. She posted photos in her idea books which allowed me to view and narrow down what I liked. I love her as a person. My family members got to know and like her as well. My husband and I worked with Elizabeth to transform our empty, dull livingroom/diningroom space into a warm, inviting, and perfect entertaining space! Liz was such a pleasure to work with. She took my taste and my husband's taste(which could not have been more opposite!) and created a design that we both fell in love with. She is quick to respond to email and phone calls. She did her best to keep us within our budget, which made me husband very happy! We absolutely love our new space and cannot wait to work with her again!

I found Elizabeth Holmes Design on Houzz.com. I was looking to modernize my apartment. I made an appointment to meet her, she did an initial visit to see the apartment and get an idea of what it was I wanted. Elizabeth was great from the moment I met her. She understood my taste and design idea concept. Her ideas/suggestions were impressive! She provided me with many choices of furniture, color concepts for each room, and artwork. She did a great job with picking out a few key pieces for my new décor as well. Elizabeth was always available to answer questions and address concerns. I was immensely pleased with her level of talent, her diligent efforts and her overall professionalism. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to re design, revamp, or decorate their space!

Taking down a wall to create an open concept led to putting in new hardwood floors and painting of the living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway. I am not very creative and did not want to spend a lot of money and be unhappy with the final results, so I decided to hire a Designer to help me. I found Liz on the Houzz website and based on prior client’s reviews, I contacted her. She immediately set up an appointment for us together. Liz was a pleasure to work with. She listened to my concerns and suggested appropriate colors, furniture fabric, window treatments, rugs and accessories based on my likes so as to make decisions less stressful for me. I enjoyed talking and spending time with her. We are very pleased with the way everything looks. I would definitely use again and recommend her to our family and friends.

This was my first time working with an interior designer and the result was a fun and positive experience! I lacked creativity and ideas on how to decorate my boring living/dining room. I selected Liz to tackle my small budget project from a list of designers on Houzz. Within a short time frame, Liz was able to create an e-design for me and helped me with selection and placement of furniture, window treatments, lighting, and paint color for my space. Liz was very professional and attentive to my needs. We maintained an open communication and she was able to accomodate my schedule. She was able to stick to my budget and some of my exitisting furnishings were able to be integrated into the new design. Liz proved to be a resourceful and knowledgable designer. I met Liz from Elizabeth Holmes Design at the Queens Mamas Expo where she has a table of information and spent time speaking with me about her services and how she thought she could help meet our needs. I originally contacted Liz soon after the Expo to help us more along the lines of 'space consulting' - turning our office into a nursery for our first child and she was just amazing to work with. She did an initial visit to see the apartment and get an idea of what it was we wanted and then drew up a work scope with projected hours and costs based on what we were asking for. She also worked with us to ensure our hours stayed within the original agreed upon time frame - so no surprises on the final cost. We honestly could not be happier with our experience. She helped us figure out space, rearrange furniture and she gave us ideas to re-purpose furniture we already had. She helped me find a crib based on the specifications I was looking for, pick out fabric, find a carpet, and storage and accents for the nursery, etc., as well as helped with placement of artwork throughout the rest of the apartment. She also met me shopping to pick out different items and purchased items on my behalf (lamps, artwork, etc.). I always felt like she had our style and budget in mind and I never felt pressured or judged by her - which was important to me, I was looking for someone to offer help and guidance, not pressure me into turning our home into something we didn't want it to be. Each time I walk into the nursery I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. I have already recommended Liz to work colleagues and fellow parents on my neighborhood listserv. I wouldn't hesitate to use her services again and can say without a doubt she was truly a pleasure to work with.

We purchased our house over a year ago and was struggling to make it homely and warm and therefore needed an home make over/ interior design for my living room, dining space, kitchen, playroom and guestroom and guest bathroom ( all the rooms on the 1st floor of my house). Our space is NYC small but we had big ideas. Liz is amazing at planning efficient layouts for furniture and just has good ideas in general. My fiancee and I have very different design asthetics and Liz managed to please us both in almost all aspects. I'm so glad we chose to work with her. She's affordable and not to mention, punctual! It's as if she waits outside your door to ring the bell at the agreed meeting time on the dot!

Reluctant at first to hire an interior designer, i am glad I did. Elizabeth was extremely helpful in bringing her expertise to my new home. i am creative and have my own sense of style, but Elizabeth was eager to work with me to take my own designs and raise them to notches higher.
