Overpriced and underwhelming. And completely frustrating from the moment I signed the contract! Signed contract in January 2022 then I had to keep contacting manager for any updates, even though I repeatedly asked to be kept informed monthly. Process and communication were awful, in fact most of the time I had to tell the workers to call the manager that day to find out what they were doing. And I was the one who had to tell the manager what had already been completed or still needed to be done. Bad management and execution with unprepared tradesmen (every single one!!!); and the one time I wasn’t there on site, the worker totally screwed up the couple of things he was supposed to do. 3 week project ended up taking over 9 months after the start of job in July 2022, even though the manager assured me that all of the products were ordered before my project started so I wouldn’t have an extended down time for my “small job”. In her words, “A modified schedule”. When I stared questioning and raising concerns at the end of July, Karen Brvenik got rude, condescending, and defensive then stopped communicating with me all together, with the exception of an email on September to inform me that my products were delayed again. Funny thing is that throughout the year 2022 I repeated would see the products needed on my job readily available at Lowes and Home Depot! Finally heard from the company again January 2023, which makes me think that Karen didn’t tell them how badly she managed my remodel, or how upset I was. The director of field operations and a superintendent had to take over and finish the job in March 2023.

I wanted to put in an outdoor kitchen at my residence. I had spent weeks thinking about the design and finally contacted S&W Kitchens to start the process. Lindsey Schwartz was the designer. She listened to my thoughts on the design, we talked about budget and set up a time where she could see the space we were working with. From there Lindsey performed her magic. After a short time, she came back with multiple designs. Among them were one that closely resembled my original draft design and another superior-in-every-way design that was more cost efficient. Needless to say I chose the design that cost less and was more appealing. As projects like this go, I changed my mind about a half a dozen times with regards to details as the project was underway. Lindsey was very patient, very accommodating and very knowledgeable about was possible with the materials available. One fear you always have with contractors is what will be the quality of work. Have no fear with S & W Kitchens. Every sub contractor they used was professional, courteous, and skilled. Dale Thomas, the construction supervisor assigned to me, was fantastic. He kept the work moving, provided guidance to me when I had questions about other construction methods that were possible, and was a pleasure to work with. I now have an excellent outdoor kitchen and it is the envy of the neighborhood. All in all, the experience with S& W Kitchens was superb. I highly recommend Lindsey Schwartz as your designer.
