Lehrer Fireplace & Patio

Just fired up a Full-view Mendota gas insert for our former wood burning fireplace. Could not be happier! Now looking forward to family gatherings as we used to do before arthritis prevented carrying in armloads of firewood. The arched top of three insert screen matches our brick arch perfectly. Beautiful.

Matt and the staff at Lehrer were great from start to finish. Answered all my questions, and the install was very professional. Highly recommended!

The founder, Ken Lehrer, took my order for a large, expensive fireplace unit and a gas stove personally. He also came to my home to look over the worksite before installation. So far, so good. When the installer arrived he did not have the two blowers for the fireplace unit that I ordered. He did not call the home office to confirm the order - he simply didn't install it. When I called Ken Lehrer to follow-up Ken said "well, the blowers weren't on the invoice" - he then said someone else at his office had filled out the invoice. He took zero responsibility for the error. He was also patronizing towards me. He agreed to 'add the blowers to the invoice this time'. I asked him to contact our contractor (who is doing a remodel on our house) - Ken did not call him. Our contractor called Ken two days later and learned that the blowers were in stock (Ken did not tell me this). The blowers are installed now, finally I am sorry I chose Lehrer's - there are other choices out there who provide better quality service without the sarcasm.
