Glenn is fantastic!! Lots of friends recommended pool builders to us and we met with nearly a dozen of them before deciding on Glenn, whom we knew only from his listing on Houzz. Glenn is a gentleman and easy to work with, and he’s an engineer who knows his stuff and actually does the manual labor with his crews and subcontractors, all of which were pleasant to work with! We needed lots of hand-holding, and Glenn painstakingly went through the choices and design details with us numerous times throughout the process. Our pool is modern and seems simple, but we worked hard with Glenn to achieve that simplicity. We now have exactly what we wanted — a 60-foot lap and sports pool with a deep end, baja shelf, and spa, all in one pool (including a cover)! And we hasten to mention that his price was a lot less than most of the competition. Glenn was a joy to work with, and we continue to have a great relationship with him. And there were no unpleasant surprises that many of our friends experienced with other builders. You will be amazed with both the process and the result with LA Custom Pools and Spas!

We hired Glenn to complete our backyard project (pool, fire pits, BBQ, and hardscape) after meeting with several other local companies - and we are so happy we did! Glenn was easy to work with, helped us to decide on final design, was patient when we took time to choose the right products for us and communicated every step of the way. He was on site to oversee the project each day and made sure everything was done right. We are so glad we decided to go with LA Custom pools!

We had a large project that including tearing down hardscape and an existing pool. He put in a brand new pool and re-landscaped the yard including irrigation in a space with uneven elevations. Glenn and his entire crew were amazing. They were professional from start to finish. I really appreciated the time Glenn took to make sure that we had everything right, and the way we wanted, before the project started. He then worked with us through every step to make sure that we continued to be on the same page, even as we changed many of the little details. I cannot say enough how much we appreciate how he put us at ease through this process that can at many times be stressful and chaotic. He returned communication promptly and was patient with our many questions, and advised us with careful consideration of our specific needs. We recommend him without reservation to our friends and family and consider him and his crew as friends more than someone just hired on to do a job. We will definitely be using LA Customs Pools and Spas again for future projects.

Glenn was and still is (answering questions after completion) an amazing businessman to work with. Glenn was on time for every appointment that we had. He sat down with us and explained everything with truth and honesty. His contracted workers were amazing. They too were very professional. He explained to me every week what was going to happen and how. He suggested things such as the types of tile and pebbletec to fit my vision. I sit outside in my backyard sometimes just to admire what beautiful work his company did. My pool is amazing. I feel as if when I walk out of my sliding door that I am at a 5 star resort in a paradise location. Until June of 2014, I had never had any experience with an in-ground pool. My 88 year old mother and I knew water exercise would be beneficial to both of us and began research for an “exercise” pool. We looked at swim spas and found them relatively expensive for a “cookie cutter” fiberglass shell with jets. I asked a friend in the pool maintenance and repair business, who had built their pool. She told me Glenn Douglas of LA Custom Pools whom they highly recommended. From our first contact with Glenn, we were impressed with his knowledge and experience. He interviewed us to determine our vision; what were our “must haves”, “would like” and “don’t needs.” Being novices in the pool building experience, we were unaware of possibilities, latest technology and cost factors. Before the first shovel broke ground, Glenn verbally and visually guided us through the process start to finish; we knew what to expect and experienced no surprises during the build. We broke ground on July 7, 2014 and had our first pool party Sept. 28, 2014. During the building process, Glenn consistently communicated with us; we knew who was going to be onsite and what they would be doing. He personally introduced us to his subcontractors, all of whom were as professional and pleasant to work with as Glenn. The only hiccup occurred when on Sept. 15th; the tile mosaic which I had ordered for the shower wall arrived, damaged in shipping. Glenn remained unfazed and offered suggestions for a Plan B. We were able to contract a local mosaic muralist, who put a rush on the job, coordinated the install with Glenn and finished on Sept. 27th at 10 pm. Glenn arranged for the plumber to install the shower head and control handle at 8 am, 5 hours prior my party and personally ensured that every detail was “party ready”. There are many decisions to be made during a pool build; stone, tile, pool finish, decking, etc. Glenn provided us many options within our budget and took us to see pools he had constructed using those selections. Obviously, I highly recommend Glenn Douglas and LA Custom Pools and Spas, Inc. During the process, many friends asked, “have you had any surprises, unexpected delays, or nightmares, yet?” My answer was consistently, “no”. Our pool build was pleasant because of the experience, professionalism and integrity of everyone at LA Custom Pools and their associates. Our backyard is no longer just a backyard; it is a retreat where we enjoy spending mornings drinking coffee; evenings enjoying the lights and sounds of the pool, water features, and landscaping; and days enjoying the comfort and exercise the pool provides.

LA Custom Pools was a great choice for us. We are extremely happy with our pool. Glen, met with us and essentially did everything for us from start to finish. We were looking for a pool that was custom and unique and boy did we get one. He began with a custom design that was amazing. He provided us with budget options and discussed each item in detail. He listened to us as his ultimate goal was to make sure we were satisfied. He wanted us to enjoy the experience during each step of the project. The entire construction process was amazing and very exciting. Once we got plans finished and approved, the pool took about 4 months to complete. Glen met with us often and kept us in the loop during each step. We made several changes during construction and he was very adaptable to our changes. Finally, he finished on time and within our budget. We chose Glen because of his straight forward and honest approach. We have heard horror stories about dishonest pool builders who scam you and/or go out of business during construction. Glen has been in business for a long time and he knows every aspect of designing and building pools. He also has a great group of subcontractors. We recommend him for anyone who wants a quality pool.

I worked with Glenn Duglas of LA Custom Pools and Spas on an exersrise pool (ca. 15x15, 5.5 ft deep) for my side yard. The result, a combination of design coordination, contractor expertise and compliance, and materials selection, was exceptional. More than I could have expected. This project could win awards for design and effect.
