Klondike Contracting is the most professional and reliable company I have ever worked with. I have been selling real estate for over 20 years and have referred them to many satisfied clients as well as used them for many of my own renovations needs including a recent total gut and reno of my current home. The give great service, have knowledgeable and skilled trades people, provide detailed estimates and keep you informed through the whole process. They are not the cheapest out there but you get more than you paid for and the comfort of knowing you are in excellent hands.

I just wanted to share a quick review. We were planning to do a few renovations at our home for a while and finally decided to get started last fall. When we contacted Klondike, they were very helpful in guiding us through the first steps and were very detailed with all the information, including the multiple budgets provided due to our picky nature :-) Unfortunately we did not end up going through with the reno because of personal reasons but I know that if we did, the project would have turned out great. I was very fortunate to have Klondike work on my new deck/backyard almost two summers ago and I couldn't be happier. I'm usually skeptical when it comes to selecting contractors (who isn't?) but from the initial meeting at my house to the very last hand shake everything went smooth and without any problems. Eric and his team were helpful and forthcoming from the first time we met until our project was completed. As with any project, there were difficult moments, but Klondike's staff were always there to support us and provide us with advice on how to save money without sacrificing quality. The men who worked in our home were respectful and very friendly! The move from Europe to Vancouver was not an easy one, especially knowing so few people. Klondike came highly recommended from some friends. We used them to renovate our kitchen. The job turned out amazing and they were great to work with. In particular, their attention to detail and their innovative ideas made the project a great success.

I highly recommend Klondike Contracting for any home or office renovations that you need to do. The quality of workmanship was second to none. The team was very professional & the job came in on budget and on time. One of the principals came to meet with us and gave us some general ideas. We then hired their designer (for a fee) for more specific guidance. She came to our home and provided us with really great ideas for our renovations and introduced us to HOUZZ. She was very knowledgeable and shared her ideas very well. Because the renovations was not very extensive we completed it ourselves with some friends using the ideas from their designer.

Klondike presented very well. The initial quote was 90 000.00 with a six week completion timeline. The actual quote did increase substantially and that should have been my warning to walk away from them but this was my first renovation project and I was under a deadline AND their reputation was good. The project ran over budget and over time and in the end I was abandoned with over 100 photo documented deficiencies. Holding them to task to correct even a small number had been impossible. Project completion was scheduled for February 1. This was pushed to March 1. Once they reached "substantial completion" and could collect all of their money they lost all interest and my project is, sadly, still not done today August 30. They failed to make any attempt to level the 20 year old concrete floors leaving huge gaps under the baseboards. I was told “it would have been prohibitively expensive and time consuming and no one would ever choose to do that”. Not the point right? That was MY decision. I got an outside floor company to quote me on what it would have cost: 1400. 00. That is less than 1% of the overall budget. And the outside flooring company thought it was “industry standard” to do it. When I complained about the baseboard gaps I was told “there is no way to fix it”. I have all of this in writing. I asked “what about scribing the baseboards”? Turns out my contractor on my six figure project “didn’t have that in her wheelhouse” according to her boss. Luckily my backyard carpenters and even my lawyer could see this obvious solution. These guys are slick and super friendly until something goes wrong. Then they deny, shirk and hide behind “industry standard” as a catch all phrase for “you can’t make us fix our terrible workmanship”.
