Working with Kim was terrific! Overall, Kim was able to listen and actually hear what we were interested in creating and brought ideas to the table that really fit the project. Not to mention that it all took place during pandemic 2020 along with an unexpected medical issue on our part, necessitating more phone calls, virtual discussions, and making selections online. All the contractors Kim involved did excellent work. Kim pulled it all together and the result was a home that we love!

I can't say enough good things about hiring Kim to work on my dining room/living room project. From minor details as helping me choose paint colors to helping with fabric selection for chairs and drapes and coordinating area rugs she was spot on and just a joy to work with. I just didn't know where to begin in refurbishing these rooms and Kim was so patient and walked me through each step. She was always on time for an appointment and very flexible with her time. My husband, inlaws and I began working with Kim in advance of a major renovation-relocation. We bought a roomy, quirky house and immediately set to work adding an inlaw apartment over the garage while also renovating the kitchen and bathrooms. Kim was instrumental from day one, helping us (from afar!) select key pieces on the contractor's time table: flooring, fixture, hardware, lighting, and more. Once we moved in, she advised us in countless ways, helping us blend what we had with new selections that made our new house in a new city fast feel like home. She understands form and function and family life, how to blend practical with the beautiful. And along the way, she became dear to us, too. Kim at KEP Interior Designs is a wonderfully competent and caring professional. She is extremely knowledgeable. My husband and I were totally overwhelmed with our new 2,500 square foot home. We moved from a tiny one-bedroom in Brooklyn, NY and we desperately needed help and guidance in decorating the house. So, I turned to Houzz and found Kim. She helped us make decisions about custom window treatments, furniture, furniture placement, lighting, custom handmade pillows for a window seat, stair runners, rugs, and so much more. We had never used a designer before, and now I cannot even imagine not having a designer! She quickly understood our style and she expertly handled all my husband’s questions and concerns especially when he said “do whatever you want” and later objected to something I picked out. She valued his opinions on style even though he kept saying he didn’t want to be involved (but he really did.) She helped us pick the most awesome window treatments and we’ve received tons of compliments about them and the house. Kim really knows her stuff and I value her opinion and advice. She even told us how to clean our rugs, and which spray to use on our new cushions to keep them stain free. Our main living area — kitchen opening to dining and living room — is the space we worked on first. Kim worked at our pace and was never pushy. I love the way my house looks and I highly recommend Kim.

I hired Kim Elliott Peterson to provide me with decorating advice for the interior of our 2600 sq. ft. condominium. My husband and I were downsizing from a 4700 sq. ft. home, and our desire was to use the traditional furniture, oriental rugs, and wall hangings that we already owned, some of which are antiques. During the initial consultation Kim surveyed our home to become familiar with our furnishings, and then we went over to the condo so she could observe the layout. Based on her observations, and without taking any photos, Kim was able to recommend a PERFECT color palette to paint the walls of the condo to complement and incorporate the colors of our furnishings. I remain fascinated by how her colors worked not only with our furniture and orientals, but right down to the matting in our art work. Through skillful arranging of our furniture we were able to use all of our favorite pieces in the condo. Once the wall colors were selected, working with Kim on the choice of window treatments and upholstery was easy, and we could not be more pleased with their design and fabrication. Our 40+ year-old dining room chairs look brand new with their new and improved seat cushions! Working with someone as professional and talented as Kim has been a pleasure. She is very easy to work with, knowledgable, and accessible. Our project was completed on time and within our budget, and my husband and I are extremely happy with the finished product.
