The Kitchen & Bath Showroom

I am over-the-moon excited about my new Bosch French door refrigerator, but even more, I was extremely impressed with the expert crew from Kitchen and Bath of Chapel Hill. From the very start, my sales rep, Lee, was absolutely wonderful to work with, guiding me in my purchase and helping me all along the way during my selection process and advising me on getting the space ready for the delivery. The removal of the old refrigerator plus the delivery and installation went great. Michael, Chris — all the guys — were wonderful, but RON, the amazing Ron, went above and beyond in the installation process and took extra steps on his own that ended up saving me money or an extra call to a plumber. It's always nice when someone saves me time and money! Everyone was so professional and pleasant, plus -- and this is something that makes certain service industry people stand out from the crowd -- they arrived ON TIME. I am thrilled. Lee and Ron also helped me with my JennAir downdraft cooktop last fall. Expert advice, professionalism, promptness -- you cannot ask for more. I love these people! I will certainly return to Kitchen and Bath for my future appliance needs.

Long overdue review, but important enough to come back and do. Bob and his team did a surprise kitchen renovation for my parents in July 2015. We worked together for several months to secretly plan out the renovation, and he was fantastic about helping me design everything properly, getting all the crews lined up to start the project while my parents were out of town, and trying to get as much done as possible while they were gone. The project included tearing out all the existing cabinets and appliances, demolishing half of a load bearing wall between the kitchen and family room, and enlarging an existing window. Along the way, Bob had great ideas, great attention to detail, and the highest level of workmanship and professionalism. The renovation was a huge success, and my parents thoroughly enjoy the new space. A big part of the project was designing the kitchen so my parents would have an easier time using it as they grow older, and Bob had lots of great ideas along those lines, and my parents love the results. The budget was almost perfect (except for the additions that I threw in at the last minute), and all contingencies were handled quickly. I'm happy to say that we remain friends with Bob even after the project has been completed, and would not hesitate to hire him again for any other work we need. In fact, my parents were so happy with the kitchen that they hired Bob to remodel their master bathroom last year as well! We interviewed several contractors, but none of them even came close to the fantastic experience we had with the Kitchen & Bath Showroom. Highly recommend!!!!

Demolition of old kitchen (cabinets, counter top, sink, move appliances. Help with design of new kitchen. Order all materials and install cabinets, countertop, flooring, and crown molding. Do electrical hookup and plumbing. Robert Harndon of The Kitchen and Bath Showroom managed the project from estimate to completion. The estimate was completed in a timely manner and was very thorough and complete. All work was done in a very professional manner. Communication was great and timely. All sub-contractors were professional and did great work. The project was completed on time and on budget. The completed kitchen was exactly what I had envisioned and is beautiful. I would not hesitate to work with The Kitchen and Bath Showroom again.

We could not be more pleased with our remodeled master bathroom & dressing room. Robert Harndon gave sound advice, and directed a skilled staff. The tile, granite, and cabinetry are beautiful.

Overall the job went well but could have gone better. The bulk of the work was completed by around the date promised but punch list items drug on for several weeks. The quality of the carpentry as well as design and installation of cabinet was excellent. The general contractor and his subs went above and beyond there to with custom, quality work. The quality of drywall, electrical and plumbing subcontractors was also excellent. I've yet to find a flaw in any work done there. We were reasonably happy with the quality of the tile installation but would have appreciated more assistance from the tile subcontractor or the general contractor in understanding our choices. This is probably the only kitchen remodel we will ever do, we aren't experts but these contractors are. The tile we selected was slightly uneven, by design. This wasn't apparent until it was installed and we had a chance to walk on it. We would have appreciated the tile or general contractor had pointing this effect out to us before installation so we could make some decisions. That's why I hired a general contractor and tile installation sub contractor, to bring this kind of experience to the project. Also the tile contractor did not work as cleanly as other subs leaving more of a mess at the end of the workday. While the end result was acceptable, getting there was too painful. The quality of the paint subcontractor's work was poor and communication was very difficult. Sloppy work (drips, missed areas) and a general lack of pride in the overall job. One of the carpenters ended up fixing all of the paint problems and did an excellent job. Future customers should also seek their own information on appliances. While the rest of the job was meticulously estimated and came in slightly under budget, estimation of appliances was significantly low. Our kitchen design dictated some specific requirements of the kitchen appliances (counter depth refrigerator, drop in range, etc.) and these were taken into account in the appliance budget. In the end, our appliance budget was 30% short of the most basic options to meet these requirements.

We had a very enjoyable experience with Kitchen and Bath and would highly recommend. Their pricing was comparable and quality and service top notch. They do everything from cabinets, tile and beautiful countertops. You definitely get what you pay for and beyond...you can't beat their customer service/assistance through the entire process (which big boxes can't match). Very kind people and easy to work with.

We had a complete kitchen makeover right down to the studs. From our first meeting with Bob everything just seemed to click. His estimate while not the lowest was reasonable. Where there were areas of uncertainty and areas for possible savings he pointed them out. His designer and work foreman and crew were easy to work with reliable and trustworthy. The subcontractors he used were also reliable, trustworthy, and conscientious. The project turned out incredibly well and better than we had hoped for. We would recommend this company without reservation and in fact are in the process of calling Bob again for another project.

I remodeled a kitchen and had The Kitchen and Bath help with the design and layout. They provided and installed all cabinets.

This was a complete remodel. They tore away everything down to the studs, even the ceiling. We are thrilled they came in on budget and on time. They walked us thru decisions and guided us towards getting the look we wanted. They are very knowledgeable, honest, efficient and creative. We highly recommend them.

Bob Harndon and Pat Barnes are the best! They were clear about the process from start to finish; they completed the project on time; and the finished bathroom and attic music room are fantastic--exactly as we asked for. We've had work done on houses before but Bob Harndon's company is by far the most professional, timely, and high-quality company we've worked with.

We planned on doing a complete remodel of our kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Our house was built in 1991 so needless to say all of the light fixtures, appliances, counter tops and floors were very outdated! We interviewed several contractors before deciding to move forward with The Kitchen and Bath Showroom. Most of the contractors we interviewed did not deliver their proposals to us on time or within our budget. K&B Showroom had the proposal back to us by our deadline, with all of the pricing listed for the remodel. All of the work was completed on time and within our budget. We are very happy with the new design, cabinets, and granite. The owner, Robert Harndon really took his time thinking through some of the problems that we had with our kitchen. He also uncovered some structural defects with our house, and was able to make the repairs while still maintaining the deadline for the completion of the kitchen. When the project wrapped up, we hosted a party and all of our guests loved the new look and layout of the kitchen and bathroom. We are extremely pleased with our new kitchen, and will be hiring this company in the near future to update our master and hall bathrooms.

This is a great company! The work was fabulous and completed on time. The workers were were professional, friendly and polite! The job site was cleaned each evening. The design services were wonderful and the end result was just what we had asked for with no surprises.
