HORRIBLE customer service!! I visited the store, looking for pieces for a client's home that I am furnishing. I found a floor model modular sofa (3 pieces) with a tag marked "AS SHOWN, $2230 - 50%". I really wanted just the center piece (an armless chair), & asked the sales person if I could buy just one piece. She asked the owner (Karen) who said no. I then went & spoke to her myself, asking again. She said that due to the really good price on the piece, it was all 3-pieces or nothing. I could not break it up. I said ok, took photos of the couch & the price tag, & said that I would bring the client by anyway to see it. In the meantime, I asked the sales person to email me an official quote to send to the client. She goes to the manufacturer's website to get the photo of the 3-piece sofa as shown on the floor, & emails me a quote. "$2230 - 50%". Fast forward 2 days. I bring the client in. Same sales person/Same couch/Same tag/Same price. The client looks at the couch & likes it. We also looked at a number of other pieces while we were there to furnish the rest of his large row home. We decide to go home & measure one more time to be sure he was happy with the large couch size. I emailed the sales person later that day to say we'll take it & try to pay & schedule delivery. She is off for the next 2 days, so we have no problem awaiting her return to cash out. Fast forward another 2 days to her return to the store. I reach out again to schedule payment & delivery. I get a response saying sure, & "oh btw, the price I gave you was for 2 pieces, not 3. The end pieces are 50% off, but the center is regular price." Ummmmm...what?!? I have been there multiple times. I have brought a client in that you spoke to directly. I WANTED to break up the piece & was told twice I could not. I have photos of the couch, the tag with "AS SHOWN" written & the price, the emailed quote with photo & confirmed price. At what point did the 3-piece go to 2?!?! "I'll call you back," she says. Next I get a call from Seth, who is not my sales person, but Jess knew she couldn't back up her error. He tells me that "we have the right to change prices at any time." Yes, you do, sir, but not when I have a written quote, & the only reason we didn't buy sooner is bc your sales associate was off. He insists I spoke to him directly the first day about the 2 pieces (which I DID when I was telling him how I wanted the center piece only & they could still form a couch with the 2 end pieces on the floor.) He talks down to me, like I'm out of line for being so insistent that they honor what they quoted my client. (You may be able go back on what you tell me, a designer, but you cannot go back on a written quote that you gave my customer, who was in your store, just 48-hours after you said it to his face & emailed it to him.) Seth also gave me a new "best we can do" price of $1500 more than the original, which was highly comical considering my wholesale price on the piece through the vendor is less than that. I asked to speak to Karen (the owner) again who knows the convo we had & how she said it was 3-pieces or nothing. "She's in California & will call you back upon her return in 2 days." It's now been over 3 weeks. No call. No email. No text to follow up. No apology to me or to my client. What HORRIBLE business practice!! Who does this to a customer? I spoke to each of these 3 people directly. And again, all of the written documentation to back up everything, as well. They have embarrassed me to my client & humiliated themselves as poor business people. Do yourself a favor & work with real professionals who are customer service oriented. The guys at MiY Home in Fells Point stepped up & saved the day, honoring the quote from Design Distillery for my client (even ordering him one brand new, not a floor model) despite this having *nothing* to do with them. He is now spending a fortune with them, furnishing the rest of his home. (He has also referred a friend now, who is furnishing an entire home she's currently building, as a result of his raving reviews of MiY Home.) How foolish to step over dollars to pick up pennies, Design Distillery. You know you were wrong. Do the right thing & honor your mistake. Will NEVER shop here again, or refer another person. Foolish!

Shopping at this store and working with the staff was a pleasure. I dealt with Erin, Karen, and Seth, all of whom were professional, patient, and knowledgeable. They redesigned and refurnished my townhouse living room, and I couldn't be happier with the results. All of the staff, and Seth in particular, offered imaginative ideas and assistance that revealed tremendous design talent and imagination. It is a pleasure to recommend this wonderful store and, much more importantly, its staff very highly and without reservation.

Working with Karen was a joy. We originally hired her to help us select finishes for our house that we were renovating. Everything came together so perfectly and her vision helped us make important and simple changes that improved our layout. Trusting her expertise was the right choice because the results are amazing. After the house was finished she also has helped us with some great furniture choices from Home on The Harbor. The best one being our amazing sofa by Precedent from the Urban Planning build your own sectional. WE LOVE IT!! Contemporary look, comfy for the whole family. Home on The Harbor is a great shop and Karen, Seth and Erin were all amazing helping our dream house become our forever home! Thanks for all you did to make the dream come true!

Home on the Harbor is the go to place for modern decor in Baltimore. They have helped me design entire areas of my home including everything from beautiful pieces of furniture to helping me choose the perfect paint color. I can not imagine going anywhere else for my homes furnishing and design needs.

This store is a wonderful find, housed inside an old opened-up industrial warehouse just across from the working part of Baltimore harbor, The furniture is arranged in pleasing open configurations that invite a stroll from one 'room' to another, allowing a look-back to that geometric Pakistani rug you loved while settling into a burnt orange Knoll chair across the wide well-lit space.. I worked with Karen's assistant, Seth Kaiser, who immediately keyed in to the specifics of my project (a third floor rowhouse den/media area with an adjoining bedroom and bath) by observing the space at different times to determine lighting values. But what impressed me the most was the time spent making the right wall color choices, with Karen lending her experience, to nail down the exact shade of blue that I envisioned for my meditative aerie. If you are looking to find mid-century modern period furnishings, accompanied with design inspiration and a wealth of textile options, don't hesitate to make your way down to Home on the Harbor. You will find it to be an exceptional experience.

Home on the Harbor is an amazing store for mid-century modern furniture. They not only sell beautiful furniture, but offer exceptional interior design advice. I went into this store with the expectation of buying a few pieces of furniture and came out with a professional and personalized design experience. The interior designer (Erin) was fabulous. She was able to show me a large variety of furniture and help me customize each piece with fabrics and finishes of my choice. The owner (Karen) was a pleasure to work with. This is a great store and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality furniture.

The Home on the Harbor team are the go-to designers for small home and rowhouse furniture and accessories. We renovated our rowhouse and worked with Karen Graveline (owner) and Erin Friedel (designer) on all of our furniture selections which required their measuring the rooms and stairwells. Karen and Erin assisted us in all aspects of the home design from whole house color selections to tiles selection for bathrooms, kitchen, living room and basement. All selections were made to fit the furniture design and colors. They also spent many hours assisting with lighting fixture selections, contacting numerous companies and even returning selections that didn't fit as expected. They dedicated many, many hours to helping us kit out an entire house. Home on the Harbor is an exceptional resource for people needing great furniture and accessories and design assistance from a team with impeccable taste.
