We are so pleased with the landscape design for our new home! Although landscaping was something that was very important to me and I had an idea of the “look” I was hoping to achieve, I’m not the best with details and visualizing the potential of a space. Jeff handled all of the technical stuff and incorporated my few ideas into a beautiful, harmonious design that really fit the look of our home. I was so pleased with how everything came together, and really appreciated the attention to detail he provided. We had a lot of steep grade and drainage issues with our property, but Jeff worked with our builder to problem solve and figure out the right plants and layout for our space.

We hired Jeff to help us design and refurbish part of our front entrance and entire pool/spa area. Jeff is a true professional and an excellent landscape artist and I recommend hi without hesitation. He helped my HOA community board completely re-do our common areas and the results are both stunning and practical. He stayed within our budget and timeline, met with us and was very patient with our questions and concerns. We got beautiful results. In short, when you are designing or redesigning an area, you need a landscape architect (not just a landscaper) who has both aesthetic sense and knowledge of plants, growers, what works best where, etc. Jeff really fit the bill for our community project.

Our Landscape Committee interviewed four known to be of high quality Landscape Architects. After (hands down) selecting JDB Design and Jeff Houghtaling our approximately 6-8 week project was placed on Jeff's calendar and shortly thereafter inaugurated. As time went on we as a committee and along with our HOA Board became even happier with our selection of Jeff due to his enthusiasm and immediate success and progress "out of the gate". Jeff presented everything he committed to do from discussing his initial ideas and then melding them with ours, using his professional and design knowledge of what and where to place plants (sun vs. no-sun), bushes, ground cover, tree and foliage choices and proper soil mixture requirements. Next came our first full size set of plans to be discussed and modified where necessary. Finally a bit later a second complete set showing all the final selections and working drawings. Since then not a day has gone by without another accolade from one or two of the community's residents. Our seven member Board and the landscape committee. could not be more pleased!.

to whom it may concern..... re: jeff at JBD design inc...... he is a 10 at his profession ! we are from northern usa..... and we desperately needed his help in making our landscape choices, as this area of south florida is not in our wheel-house. jeff's knowledge and direction was right on for us as, we are contemporary and didnt want to do anything ...cheezy ...! FYI...... jeff offered us perfect solutions to our home and landscape...and within our budget. we would highly recommend him. and ..... we plan to retain him in the future.

He worked tirelessly with us to provide a design , select materials , and provide on site inspections for our project. Commented: I like the decking can you tell me the name of the tile/marbleHi rdesai12: The decking on this project is "Vanilla Limestone" by Belgard. It must be sealed when used outdoors as it is very porous and will mold quickly if left unsealed. It has a nice ...
