Jesse at JRAF Studios created the plans for renovations to our MCM home. The renovations were extensive, and included re-configuring all bathrooms and the kitchen (including re-working plumbing, HVAC and wiring), a new garage and carport. and an addition. We could not be happier with the planning process or the results. Jesse understood that we wanted to maintain the integrity of our modern house from the 50s that was built by an architect for his family. He helped us update our house to modern standards while preserving the mid-century design and architectural details that drew us to the house in the first place. Jesse had brilliant ideas and translated them into detailed plans that were easy for us to understand and our contractor to execute on. His recommendations for room configurations and materials were spot on - keeping to the style of our home but updating it to meet our family's needs. Jesse supported us not only on drafting the plans, but also throughout the process on interior design questions. He proposed creative and practical solutions throughout the process, and worked effectively with the contractors to address any questions that arose. Jesse brings a combination of design skill, practicality and problem solving to make a complicated project successful. He was always positive and always engaged with our project. JRAF designed & managed our MAJOR home renovation. Jesse brought professionalism, creativity and attention to detail to the table start to finish. He listened! He stayed on deadline AND budget! We now have a lovely art studio, a covered and cedar finished porch, a beautiful dining with a stunning asymmetric cedar ceiling, an office and ALL with huge windows overlooking grounds and horse pasture. While Jesse is incredibly creative, he also has a great deal of knowledge relating to architecture and a great care for detail. We own a mid-century modern house in Kessler Park and needed to remodel about half the house, but with some severe limitations imposed by the existing architectural style and current footprint of the house. The job turned out flawlessly. Jesse was able to incorporate many of the necessary structural and mechanical upgrades to the underlying bones of the house (we finally have some energy and mechanical efficiencies) while choosing finish after finish that continued and complemented the existing architectural style of the house. This isn't just my personal opinion, our house was selected for the Preservation Dallas House tour shortly after the remodel to show off the house and Jesse's design. We're planning to add a stand-alone studio in the back yard if/when the current building boom slows and we'll definitely be using Jesse if he has availability. As anyone who has fought through a building / construction project of any kind knows, it is very difficult to find people you can count on. To find someone who can take your initial jumbled thoughts, tell you what you actually want (which you didn't really understand initially) and then also put together the detailed plan and see it through down to the details is a valuable, valuable aid. I can't recommend him highly enough.
