They were very receptive to our inputs, and on the rare occasion where one of our asks could not be met, they worked with us to come up with a work-around or alternative solution we would be happy with. Additionally, the quality of work from the sub trades and partners that JDL works with is amazing. Every detail, from the intricate millwork to the flawless paint job, showcases each team’s expertise and experience in their craftsmanship. The materials used were also high quality while cost effective, resulting in a home that is aesthetically stunning and built to stand the test of time. JDL Homes is a great and well knowledgeable company. They helped transform our garage into an amazing laneway house. From the start - permits, concept/renderings and designs, to the end - a beautifully complete home, the process was smooth and efficient. We were able to move into our house weeks before the projected completion date. They probably have one of best team working with and for them! Anna Pang is easy-going, great and helpful to work with! She helped us with absolutely everything from interior design to exterior design. She is a very skilled designer who took the time to get to know her clients and their preferences. Never pushy and always kept our budget in mind. She was also quick to reply to all sorts of random questions and concerns. Jeff or Doug Langford would be on site and always keep us in the loop of how things are going and what to expect. Their friendliness and professionalism made it easy to work with. The cost of our Laneway House was a little bit higher than expected, but we are extremely happy with the quality of work, building design and material choice that JDL guided us through. Everyone who comes through our house always compliments that this is the nicest laneway house they have ever seen. Overall, they built us a great house that we can call home for many years to come. We do hope we can have a chance to work with them in the future.

A well-managed company with exceptionally qualified staff able to do custom trim and finishing details from customer's sketches.Connections to experienced architects. Closely supervised all trades to ensure adherence to good building practice. Followed up on all equipment installation and finishing short-comings. Skilled designer with excellent attention to detail for room layout and theme co-ordination and able to translate customer's preferences into a coherent building style within budget. Recommended newest building construction and insulation techniques to surpass standards resulting in a quiet and energy efficient house.

We were subcontractors working along side with JDL and they were nothing but spectacular. Everything was ready when they said it was and truly a great group of professionals to deal with. It's always a pleasure for my team to work with.

Worked as the Plumbing & Gas Fitting subcontractor with JDL Homes as the builder on a new custom home in North Vancouver. JDL Homes is a professional group of knowledgeable individuals who made the build run smooth and problem free. Onsite supervisor was fantasic and able to schedule sub trades at our convenience, answer questions promptly, and overcome any and every issue that arose during the development. Well seasoned management, combined with creative designers with first class communication, allowed for a quick execution of our scope of work.

I have photographed numerous projects for these folks. I found the quality of work to be very impressive, and their customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend JDL Homes to anyone looking for a renovation, large or small.

We have worked alongside JDL on multiple projects throughout the lower mainland. By continuing to work within a select group of trades we have learned to work together within a system of excellence; doing what it takes to get jobs done on time with a product everyone is proud to be a part of.

This is the second time we have worked with JDL and it's been another excellent experience. Previously we did a rather substantial bathroom renovation with redesign and it was done to our complete satisfaction, on budget and almost on time. For a sizeable construction project it was an excellent performance. This time we did the kitchen and another small bathroom reno. Again, the guys at JDL with their network of craftsmen/-women and designers did an outstanding job. We decided to not be "home" during the construction and the team around Doug Langford and Doug Rolls handled everything (!) professionally including permits, design and material procurement. A special mention for Lianna Armstrong, who worked with them to design the new kitchen, excellent work. Overall, we highly recommend JDL for projects, if you want to have peace of mind.

We have been working with JDL for a number of months now as we are designing a custom home in North Vancouver for their clients. Doug and the team have been invaluable in early discussions on how to design a house that not only was perfect for their clients, but also efficient and cost effective to build. We look forward to construction starting soon on this home and being able to support Doug and the JDL team as the build progresses. We can only say good things about these guys!! 5 stars for sure!

We hired JDL homes to do our basement renovation "plus", which included completely gutting and rebuilding the basement, redoing the back deck and landscaping the back yard. The basement includes a finished kitchen, full bathroom, laundry room, entertainment room and walk-out study with built-in bookcases and gas fireplace. I can't speak highly enough about the finished product. As I said to Doug Langford (JDL contractor), "I had a vision in my head of what I wanted it to look like and the finished product looks even better than I envisioned". The staff and subcontractors are all extremely professional, competent and hardworking. The quality of the work, especially the carpentry, is a real standout. I was also really pleased with Tiana, who guided us through the interior design and also took the time to understand our tastes and gave invaluable suggestions. The whole process went very smoothly.
