We have worked with Floors on 14th for years, and we have had them work on our floors multiple times. We have light colored floors which can be difficult to do. We have always had a great experience with them.

I am satisfied with the end product--my floors look good. But the abysmal customer service I received was unacceptable, and I would not recommend Floors on 14th to a friend.
I was told that my project would take 1 week, starting on Monday. They asked to reschedule the start date to Tuesday because another project ran long, but I was assured the project would still finish on Friday. The guys show up Tuesday and I ask again--will this be complete on Friday? They say yes, and I tell them I will return Friday around 6pm. I stay in a hotel for the week. When I get home on Friday at 6:15, the guys are not there and there is NO FLOOR. It was just the bare concrete. I call the shop and receive a total non-apology, of the "sorry, but..." variety. There was just no possible excuse for them not calling to let me know the project would not be finished on time, but the owner proceeded to argue that: 1) they wanted to do it right [yes, I would like that too]; 2) he would never tell me that the project would be finished for sure on Friday [his employees told me that repeatedly]; 3) the project had unexpected challenges [ok, you should have called to tell me]; 4) it was not yet the end of the day--the implication being that he might have been about to call me at 6:30 on a Friday to tell me that my project would not be done on schedule. Honestly, I was really insulted by his argumentativeness and unwillingness to admit fault. I had to find another place to stay until Tuesday--they would not work over the weekend to rectify this. On Tuesday I received a call to tell me that they needed to order more flooring because they had mismeasured. They hadn't accounted for any of the closets or the entire kitchen--an incredibly careless mistake! I could move back in, but the flooring wouldn't arrive until Friday afternoon. I asked when it could be installed, and was told Friday afternoon or Saturday. It would only take a few hours. I call on Friday to see if the flooring has arrived, and am told that it has, and they're trying to get ahold of the subcontractor. By Friday evening near their closing time, still no word. I call again and am told that they will be open Saturday and I should call in the morning. I do, 4 times, and receive no answer to my voicemails. Monday morning (a holiday), they finally show up and finish the 2 hours or so of work that was left. The whole ordeal took more than 2 weeks.
Save yourself the trouble of dealing with this company. In my experience, they are unreliable, unresponsive, careless, and rude.

Miguel did an excellent job of installing my new cork floor. Cork flooring comes in two styles -- floating and glue-down. I wanted glue-down because it is softer to stand on, and I was having it installed in the kitchen. If you live in a concrete slab building, as I do, it is essential that the concrete be skimmed before the tiles are installed, so the surface is flat. I previously had another contractor install the flooring, and he did a terrible job. The first time, he didn't skim the concrete at all and the floor looked really awful, so I made him re-do it. The second time he did a very inept skimming, so the floor still looked bad. I decided to write off the cost and start over. Someone referred me to Floors on 14th. None of the reviews I read about Floors on 14th concerned cork flooring, so I was very anxious about the company's skill in installing cork tiles.
Miguel realized I was anxious and was very patient with me. After the first layer of skim, I was freaking out because I could see bumps, and, with a level, I could show Miguel that there were still hills and valleys. He reassured me that he would be adding additional layers of skim and all would be fine in the end. He was right. By the third skim coat, the concrete surface looked really good. He then did a good job of laying down the tiles.
The one downside I experienced is that, with various excuses, the company didn't start the job until 11 days after the promised start date. Luckily, I am a patient person, and my GC had the flexibility to work around the delay.
I would suggest that customers cover their counters, cabinets, and adjacent flooring with plastic drop cloths, because the skimming material, before being mixed with water, gives off a fine gray dust and, when wet, can splash on the lower cabinets. It was fairly easy to clean up, but I wish someone had suggested this to me.

Our wooden floor was damaged due to a leak from the ceiling. We were reffered to the Floors on 14th by a friend. With sceptisim we entered the store, but we were impressed by the variety of material availble and the expertise by Kevin and his team. We worked with Kevin, and highly recommend his services on basis of honesty, sincerity and efficiency. He and his team are very quick efficient and an absolute expert in their work with perfect finishing. We landed up hiring the team to repair our ceiling, and our guest bathroom floor as well. We highly recommend Floors on 14th

We hired Floors in 14th to change our existing hardwood floor. They have a lovely and modern selection of hardwood flooring in varying shades and width.
The crew led my Miguel did a great job placing the flooring. We have two flights of stairs and the finishing and nosing on the stairs looks great.
However, you need to prepare for the risk of having delays stemming from back-logs at wood manufacturing plants. You may want to ask first before selecting any brand to know if there is a backlog as this will impact the time required to finish the hardwood floor.

Hands down the worst experience I've had, personally and as an architect, with a material supplier in my 7+ year career. The carelessness by which they handled us as customers, our project, procuring the floors and shipping has been truly frustrating and upsetting. Overall it's cost us additional thousands of dollars and a month delay in our project!
So many terrible things along the way, but here was my experience:
- They came out and measured our floors, some guy that was very unprofessional and careless came to give us an estimate, this came back to bite us because they didn't measure correctly and we ended up running out of flooring half way through the project
- They said it would be 2 weeks to get the floor we picked out, fine. The DAY BEFORE they were to arrive I called to ask about shipping details and it ended up they never placed the order for the floors
- On top of that they couldn't get the floors from the US so they had to ship them from Germany
- Over the next 2 weeks I literally spent 30+ hours on the phone trying to connect Floors on 14th with the supplier in Germany because they were too lazy to follow up and try to get the floors
- Upon delivery they didn't send anyone to unload the truck, so we had to carry 40+ boxes in ourselves even though we paid for delivery
- The saga continues as we had to stop our rennovation project while we now wait for more floors because Floors on 14th mis-measured
All in all terrible customer service, lack of care to actually get the product we ordered and obviously bad communication/logistics based on other reviews.
I'm amazed this place is in business, I will do my best to be vocal about their terrible handling of basic business skills.
