Zuzana was a designer I cold called and reached out without any reference, but it turned out to be the best decision! She showed up to the site (always on time!) with such professionalism, experience and warmth, being open and honest about her professional advice and personal preferences, while fully respecting our aesthetics and budget. She thinks in our shoes, and deliver a design that truly meets our needs and our vision. She is also extremely patient, walking alongside with us even though our project unfortunately dragged on for a year when it came to implementation, answering our questions professionally, patiently and promptly throughout the journey. I am impressed by the consistency of her excellence, and am forever grateful that she created a beautiful garden of our dream. Thank you, Zuzana!

We worked with Zuzana to create a backyard design; we chose her after interviewing several landscape architects because she was easy to communicate with, had outlined a project process we liked and was competitively priced. In working with Zuzana, we appreciated her ability to listen to all our needs and translate them into a design and particularly appreciated being able to continue working with Zuzana even after her design work was complete as we chose a contractor and had to make additional decisions. We would definitely recommend Zuzana to anyone seeking a thought partner and expert in creating a design that could then be shopped around to contractors.

Our front yard landscaping had become old and worn out. Zuzana redesigned the landscaping utilizing mounding, dry creek beds, new trees and plants, a smaller lawn area, landscape lighting, and drip irrigation (about 8000 sq ft of planting area). Zuzanna made excellent recommendations for plant and tree choices. She has extensive knowledge of trees and plants as well as what will work in our area and what will look good across all seasons. Zuzanna is easy to work with refining the end product with an interactive design process. She presented multiple options outlining pros and cons, adapting the design throughout the process to best fit our preferences. Just as importantly, she has good contacts and recommendations for landscape installation companies. We went with one of her recommendations. They did an excellent job at installation, and we are thrilled with the result. We would use Zuzanna again without reservation.

I had seen Zuzana's work at a house on my walk in my neighborhood. That garden had all the elements I was looking for in a new garden. I wanted a dry creek with plants that had low water requirements and low maintenance. I talked to the homeowners and they highly recommended Zuzana. I called her and she responded in a timely manner. She came out to see the property free off charge, and another time to measure my yard. I thought her fee was very reasonable. My plans were ready in less than 3 weeks. I had to contact her a few times during installation, and she gave her advice quickly at no extra charge.

Be careful before hiring her. She did a horrible job for designing my backyard. We only used a little bit of her design. The landscaper could not use it. Everything was wrong. It cost us a lot of money to fix everything for that small section where we used her design. We had to use our own design for the rest of the project.

My husband and I are thrilled that we found Hrano Design! Zuzana is an incredibly talented landscape designer and was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very communicative and responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the entire design process. Her final designs were nothing short of beautiful, and she did an amazing job bringing our rough ideas to life and helping us refine the details. We've already sent our plans out to bid with a number of contractors, and several of them have expressed admiration for her artistic sense and attention to detail. We would 100% hire Zuzana again, and we're so thankful we had the opportunity to work with her.

We removed our swimming pool in 2019, and we decided that we really wanted our yard to be useful and beautiful. Zuzana was referred to us by a relative for a front and back yard landscaping project. Zuzana always kept active communications with us, and I was impressed by how quickly she responded to our email/questions. She was very nice, patient, and knowledgeable. Her professional opinions were very important and helpful to us since we don't know much about landscaping projects. The landscape design part was finished in May of this year, and the plan looked super impressive. We decided not to start the ground work until mid September, so the project is currently ongoing. We can't wait to have our wonderful dream garden soon. We enjoyed working with Zuzana; she provided exceptional service. We are very thankful to have her as a landscape designer and will certainly refer Zuzana to our friends and relatives!

Zuzana is very responsive and knowledgeable. She has gone above and beyond with regards to confirming city guidelines for our project. We look forward to continuing to work with her .

We partnered with Zuzana on our Menlo Park landscape design project. We were thoroughly impressed by Zuzana's work. She is organized, punctual, meticulous, creative, and a great communicator. She is both knowledgeable and resourceful; when she couldn't answer questions immediately, she knew where to go to get precise answers. It was a joy working with her. Zuzana and Hrano Design are absolutely amazing. When I started my landscaping hardscaping project, multiple landscaping contractors and architects recommended Zuzana specifically, so expectations were high. Zuzana exceeded ALL expectations. Her landscape and hardscape design acumen, communication, attention to detail, accuracy, and work ethic were all "above and beyond". Her guidance helped shape an incredible design outcome (project in progress at time of this review). Zuzana is direct and professional in her communication, and fair in her business practices. I was blown away with the additional effort Zuzana put in to connect me to the county for permitting. I'm honestly very surprised that she is so prompt with delivery given the demand she must experience.
