About Us

Houston family owned custom upholstered furniture maker since 1993. We specialize in manufacturing upholstered furniture, drapery window treatments, re-upholstery and interior design services. At our Richmond Street showroom we assist clients in fabric and furniture selection. We also offer personal one on one in-home interior design services. We LOVE what we do and want our clients to enjoy the process in creating a home they enjoy and love! In order to create beautiful furniture we have our showroom located on Richmond Avenue. Our Jensen Drive factory location is where all the fabrication is done.

Marie and crew are amazing. We had a very hard to fit space in our house and nobody was able to make a sectional work. But Marie and team had no problem. They came to our house and measured, brought the frames over to assure a perfect fit, sent pics along the way as they were being covered and make a perfect delivery. We could not be happier. We ended up liking her so much that we ordered multiple additional pieces and will go back again for any upholstery or furniture need we have. 6 stars!

I had a nasty, 25 yr old couch with slight fire damage that should have been thrown out. I loved it though and could not let it go. Houston Upholstery & Design came to the rescue. The reupholstry and repairs they performed resurrected it and it’s now essentially a brand-new couch. Thanks UPD for the awesome work.

Marie was wonderful to work with. She helped me select fabric for an upholstered bed that they custom built. She was responsive and very professional. The bed is beautiful and exactly as ordered. The completion time was also way ahead of schedule, which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for custom furniture/upholstery!

Marie is the best! My husband felt that the original quote from her was too high, so we with something cheaper and ended up regretting it. We went back to Marie at Houston Upholstery and are very happy with the results. Trust me, her work is great and when you are talking about a piece of furniture that you use/look at daily it is worth paying for quality work!

Houston Upholstery & Design did an excellent job with our sofa and loveseat! I was nervous about making changes to my husband's favorite sofa in the house, but Marie's work was perfect! Our sofa was new-ish with some contemporary touches that I did not like. In addition to changing the fabric, we added a waterfall skirt, new tape trim, and removed some brass nailheads. Marie was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. I look forward to more projects!
