High Desert Design has changed my life -- for the better. I engaged Anne Hartshorn just about a year ago to develop my 1/3 acre property. It was a desert of derilect grass. It is now an oasis of lovely, comfortable spaces to really live in. Anne and her team have built two patios and transformed the backyard wasteland into a lovely garden which is blooming in succession throughout the summer. Anne's team are efficient, friendly, tidy, and thorough. Who could ask for more.

Anne and her energetic and knowledgeable team installed a water conscious garden on my property two years ago and have been doing routine maintenance on it since. Two years ago I hired Anne Hartshorn to design and install a garden for my new property in Longmont. Since then she and her crew have been responsible for the maintenance. Anne designed the landscape for our new yard in Lyons - after taking care of our previous place for many years. Anne has a great sense of picking appropriate plants for dry environments, yet maximizing color. We didn't want any grass - so we needed to plant lots of ground covers and low perennials and use lots of large boulders and the native Lyons sandstone. I love the moss rock retaining wall that she built (see her pictures!). What I like about her team is that they pull all the weeds by hand and know the difference between sprouting wildflowers vs. sprouting weeds.

I was a very happy and hardworking contractor for High Desert Designs. Anne only hires the most detail oriented individuals with enthusiasm for helping to create beautiful gardens!
